Deep purple colors in the glass. Heavy cab with blueberry, vanilla, and tasting notes of earth. Very yummy cab and went perfectly with pot roast. — 7 years ago
Enjoyable. Peppery and warm. Great summer wine and easy to drink — 7 years ago

Very nice. Inky purple. Little nose. Juicy. Second growth 2013 — 9 years ago
Hints of plum, clove, mild acid, velvet mouthfeel. Balanced tannins. — 9 years ago
Needs two hour decant. Muted nose and higher acidity until it opened. Pretty cab blend with higher tartness at the finish. Unfortunately this was the weakest among a very strong line up last night. — 10 years ago
Second bottle and now on to Caymus, with best friends Lance and Luanne, we are grateful for them "breaking bread" with us and the Shrimp and Penne a la Vodka on the Big Green Egg! — 11 years ago
Pop n pour and enjoy! 33 year old second growth isn't an aria, but she's got some pipes. Stinky barnyard on the nose _ no complaints — 11 years ago
Really gorgeous wine. Apple pie. — 6 years ago
Nice second wine from a producer I usually like. Currants and graphite. Medium plus acidity. Good classic bordeaux with a steak. — 7 years ago
Berries on the nose. Berries and herbs with light mouthfeel and mild tannins. Nice with a moderately spicy sweet potato and chorizo skillet dish, but it also serves as a stand-alone wine before or after dinner. — 7 years ago
On this Saturday night I have opened the 2014 Réserve De La Comtesse. 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot the second wine from Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de la Lalande.
On the nose there is sumptuous dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, black currant, stewed plums, chocolate, a bit of meatiness and tar.
On the palate the dark fruit continues with blackberry, black cherry, black currant, licorice, cedar, smoky oak, mocha and an earthiness.
This wine has a velvety mouth feel an is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + fine rounded tannin that leads to a delicious lingering finish. Stay safe and continued enjoyable weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 years ago

Meaty white wine! Low acidity — 10 years ago
The nose is alluring, still a little young, really opened up on the second day — 11 years ago
Nice Merlot based blend. Pretty light bodied but nice fruit as well. — 11 years ago
Late to post this from Friday night dinner at Gemma (Dallas spot with nice wine list). Surprised to find this one on the list and just had to order. Fortunately they decanted for us, but it was still a little cooler temp than my liking. Overall this is always a pleaser. Still can’t believe this is a second wine for PT. Silky smooth tannins. Approachable now, but will become even more elegant with time in the bottle. Can’t beat this QPR. Napa cab that holds true to Bordeaux style. (Drank 1/3/20) (not my photo) — 7 years ago
Holy moly, where did this one come from!? This had the nose of full throttle drunken elderberries and freshly baked blackberry pie with pepper and spice and everything nice! This tastes like whole cluster Grenache If there really is such a thing. Black and blue, pepper and spice, black cherry cola, mouth coating, inky. Dissecting out all of the notes that were swirling around, it would take me probably an hour, and everyone would be bored and probably stop reading. This was massive. And has probably a couple of decades left! — 7 years ago

Medium ruby red core with bricking at the rim. Complex aromas of dark berries, flowers, tobacco, truffles, and earth. Round and elegant in the mouth with soft tannins and good persistence. Has definitely entered its mature phase but with plenty of pleasurable drinking ahead. A second wine from one of Bordeaux’s “super seconds”. 13% ABV. — 8 years ago
Nice wine. Drank it on the second day. Still had a lot of character to it. — 9 years ago
Very pleasant red blend. Short finish but still a nice sipping wine. — 11 years ago
Unreal nose, barnyard, leather amazing long finish. Second end of lunch wine. — 11 years ago

Good but not in any way amazing. It goes to show what improvements have been made since around 2005-2009. Green harvest in the vineyards and Selections for the grand vin have become so rigorous that the second wines of 2009 and 2010 are probably than the grand Vins of 2000 in many cases.
This particular wine was a bit green. Still has life but why wait any longer. It’s definitely a good wine — 6 years ago
