This vintage doesn’t reach the heights of the amazing ‘16, but it is very nice. Classic sangio, medium bodied, screaming to be paired with a hearty meal. — 5 years ago
Delicious and bold — 6 years ago
Chilled a little over cellar temperature, notes forthcoming...
Nose has insane qualities, not sure I've ever experienced a Riesling like this, beeswax, grapefruit pith, fresh cut white grapefruit, freshly cut spring hay and faint wet limestone.
Palate is restrained, yet screaming acidity, pulverized SweeTARTS, honey poured over citrus pith, limestone dust and faint white flowers.
Holy crap this is good!

11’Colgin Cellars Tychson Hill Vineyard. Located just north of Saint Helena. Not that far from Grace family Vineyards.
Tightly wound straight out of the bottle. Decanted for 90 minutes. Certainly has made a world of difference.
Still full-bodied & depth, bursting with dark fruit, licorice flavor’s, back by nice floral notes, polished tannins. Slightly backwards!?! Last time I had this was five years ago & it wasn’t open for business. Now it’s screaming drink me. — 5 years ago
Delicious! Had it as part of a wine flight at Salish Lodge in WA. Celebrating our 2yr anniversary of the day we met. — 7 years ago
Nice tannic finish. Could be cellared and be even better — 7 years ago
Screaming acidity, and I really enjoyed the use of oak. It was both familiar and entirely new, which made it a treat to drink — 8 years ago
This is honestly the best Chardonnay I've had. I don't normally drink white, let alone Chardonnay, but this is just spectacular. The hints of caramelised popcorn with a dash of heaven take me on a whirlwind to some magical land off yonder. — 9 years ago
Great flavor, just a tad thin. Overall, another great wine from Ojai! — 5 years ago

Very hot with persistently grippy tannins. My first HSS, unfortunately from an off year. For the first hour it had an identity crisis, with classic, savory notes crudely juxtaposed to big fruit screaming for attention. The fruit won the screaming match, eventually even overwhelming the signs of oak. This was good, this paired nicely with steak, but I wish this knew who it was as it has so much potential. — 7 years ago
Beautiful richness, weight and ripe character with screaming acidity on the tail end. — 9 years ago

What an elegant wine. The deft integration of all the wines component pieces in its overall sense of equilibrium was near perfect. And it tasted 🤤 yummy. — 4 years ago
