Comte De Poix Ajaccio Sciacarello 2015

Surprisingly with apricots and stewed pineapple on the nose; hot tropical fruits. Dry and medium weight on the palate, with a little strawberry and light tannins. May need some time to rest. — 7 years ago

Vin de Corse Sartene Sciacarello Nielluccio Blend 2016

This wine from Corsica is really interesting. Very light in colour (local grapes) it is very Cotes du Rhône like in style. Lightly chilled it is a nice surprise. — 7 years ago

Y’all probably know by now that I’m a fan of rosé. Anytime, anywhere, with any food. It’s one of the most satisfying wines around. But I’m kind of picky when it comes to rosé. It’s gotta have energy. It’s gotta have lift. It’s gotta have ACIDITY. While I might catch some flak for this, I’m just gonna say it. There is no surer bet in the world of pink wine than Corsican rosé. I’ve never met one I didn’t like. Hell, I’ve never met one where I didn’t immediately want a second bottle. So whenever it crosses my path, I grab it. By the glass, by the bottle, by the case. This little beauty (from the Isle of Beauty, no less) was made by Eric Poli, and comes from organically farmed (uncertified) vines on the east side of the island near Eric’s hometown. Made from Sciaccarellu, an indigenous red to the island that makes just stunningly bright rosés. Citrus skin, strawberry, dried flowers and grapefruit are layered over wet stone minerality that is just gorgeous. — 4 years ago

Amphora Corse Figari Nielluccio Sciacarello 2015

Vintage 2015 / No sulphites. No filtering. 3 months on amphora, 4 months on barrique. Mix of authentic grapes #nielluciu #sciaccarello #minustello #carcaghjolu #morescone that makes this #corsicanwine very enjoyable. Rich and refined. Pretty round. Some roses. Frivolous. I like it very much. — 7 years ago
