Just wow. Vanilla, caramel and... sweet cream?? Though oaky and not sweet, the richness is suggestive of a dessert wine. The name says it all. — 7 years ago
Funky, blood orange, and saline. . . Tart watermelon says the bf. — 7 years ago
Fantastic Cabernet, as always. This is my all-time favorite California Cabernet and this vintage (2010) does not disappoint. The wine is rich and complex, with immediate impact on the palate and in the nose. Earthy and spicy, yet well rounded with berries and floral notes. Finishes smoothly but with a little nip of spicy and leathery creamy voluptuousness. Maureen says, "delicious!" — 8 years ago
Like it says...butter forward! A little straw and light on the palate. Can't go wrong with it! — 8 years ago
Who says 2011 was a bad year? Beautiful garnet from the glass. Elegant floral and blue fruit on the nose. Deep blueberry, black berry and currant tastes on the palate. Excellently structured with sweet tannins and beautiful acidity. These grapes come from a great Oakville neighborhood. Great family owned winery! — 9 years ago
Consumed 2/2019. The bottle has a quote on it that I like. It says a pessimist is never disappointed. Made me giggle. So I bought it and tried it. Not bad. Alc. 15.5% by vol. — 6 years ago
Just like it says. Smooth as silk. A little dry and very flavorful. — 8 years ago
Australia's premium Shiraz Viognier blend and Tim Kirk says this is the best one he has ever made. I have been buying since the 2001 vintage. This is a cracking cool climate Shiraz blend showing florals Spice and a hint of pepper. Palate is restrained - more the weight of Pinot than Shiraz. Intensity without weight- Fluid, beautiful finishing with fine persistent tannins- 15 years stretching ahead of it. More whole bunch than the early vintages like many Aussie Shiraz producers these days. David Le Mire MW said whole bunch serves to lower the alcohol and increase the pH. Gives a "Tea" character with Stem tannins adding to the finish. — 8 years ago
When opened.. typical old style ..so dry it makes you pucker.. great legs, color deep purple, earthy.. so dry.. 5 minutes later it blossoms ..the fruit says hello.. it challenges your tongue to express something new bold. Sweet smooth and wonderful.. now you know why you drink wine!!? — 8 years ago
The label says crisp and refreshing and that's no lie. At $7.99 a bottle 9.1 alcohol and a slight frizzant strawberry currant flavor what's not to like? I'm stocking up! — 9 years ago
2015, raspberry chocolate torte sprinkled with cocoa. Unbelievable value for $18. Not overly complex yet layered in balance. Berry forward with heavy slate. Mild tannins and as Anna says, swourt — 7 years ago
Strong aromas of baking spices, caramel, currant and back strap molalass. Good balance that builds. Soft firm supple tannins. Paul says BOOBS. I agree. Aubrey thought it was a cab. Enough said. — 7 years ago
Love Palmaz wines (and I might love their winery tour over their wines, which says something about their tour). Elegant red, blue and black fruits. They rush at you, but give way to earthy and herbal secondary notes alongside Mexican vanilla. The finish is lengthy and velvet like. This is a Napa Cab that is so easy and enjoyable to drink. — 7 years ago
GL tasting 1/27/17 Langoa Leoville. nice nose of fruits and rounded and silky and carries through to a velvety body and long finish. Very fresh and drinkable. Says very underrated. — 8 years ago
Who says 2011 didn't produce any good wines??? Pitch black in the glass. The nose on this is all man; eucalyptus, mint, fresh leather, cigar tobacco, sage. For such an extracted wine, the palate is extremely light on its feet. Dark berries abound, balanced by nice acidity. There's a nice core of fruit, maraschino cherries. This doesn't have the density to be truly age worthy, but will evolve beautifully over the next 5-10 years. — 9 years ago

My buddy says let’s have a bottle of wine- why not? Then he shows up with the ‘61 latour?! The scene from Wayne’s world came to mind... I’m not worthy!! hands down the best wine I have ever had. It took a solid 90 minutes to open up and when it did- pure joy. I could just sit and smell this wine and be happy. It’s medium bodied with perfect acidity as it hits every part of the palate with dark fruit and mineral/ graphite and the finish is like silk. It’s almost like it just evaporates and lingers and you just want more! As I’m drinking I’m thinking... how do you keep ‘em on the farm once they’ve seen Paris. — 6 years ago
