Strong impression and assumed personality on this deep Californian. Complex and impressive is the least i can say. - Dark berries, chocolate, tobacco, polished tannins maintains tension throughout and balances high alcohol levels...WOW

Deep ruby in color with a short purple rim.

Strong nose of cooked blackberries, sweet plums, cherry pie, dried figs, tobacco, spices, cedar, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, mocha, tobacco, earth, peppercorn and leather.

Full bodied, rich, extracted and bold, with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, cooked cherries, figs, raisins, vanilla, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, smoke, mocha, light vegetables, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth, leather, coke, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.

Long finish with medium tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a great Petite Sirah blend from the house of Orin Swift. Rich and fruit forward with great complexity and mouthfeel. Still shows some alcohol on the palate.

This 7 year old is good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (90 minutes).

Spicy with a beautiful nose. Delicious and yummy.

Thank you Scott for sharing this with me.

A blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Grenache. Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels.

15.7% alcohol by volume.

So....@India Okoh wants to get all the labels and model them in SA. I’m down.

Deep purplish red. Fruit forward nose with some violets, baking spices and blackberries. Full bodied with medium tannins (6/10). Great earthiness on the palate with black and blue fruits, spices and a little herbal. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2026.

This 2012 red blend from the house of Orin Swift is always enjoyable.

Unfortunately it wasn't stored properly and shows some over ripen fruits. However it is still very yummy. Showing black fruits with Oak vanilla spices, chocolates tobacco mocha coke earth.

Balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

Spicy on the finish with fine tannins.

15.7% alcohol by volume.

14’ Orin Swift Machete Red Wine. ALC 15.7 A blend of Syrah, Petite Syrah, Grenache.
There’s a fine line between ripened fruit/moderated oak/ big tannins 🤔.
Medium/ dark purple in color. Black fruits, sweet blue fruits, peppers, herbs, earthiness, chewy tannins. Lingering finish!!(the most appealing part of this wine) We just let it opened up in the glass for about 30 minutes. This would be fun to revisit again in a few years.

A blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah & Grenache and aged for 10 months on French oak (40% new). A deep red color with aromas of black fruits and sweet spice. On the palate, ripe plums, jammy blueberries and sweet cherry with slight oak and vanilla spice, pours like syrup. Lingering finish, good length allowing the soft tannins to open in your mouth. Good structure, ending with pure fruit and dash of minerality, drinks well now. Produced with 12 different labels. Wow! Better than ‘14, I tasted.

She’s a Beast ~ if it wasn’t for air and the lamb burger (w paprika & cinnamon, balsamic, feta, spinach & red onion) not sure a Machete could cut through it!
