Columbia county 2.0: 100% Ramisco from one of the worlds great wacky wine areas- vines not just on sandy soil, but on sand, in Colares, Portugal. The closest soul equivalent I can think of is Barolo, as it has that intensity of red fruit but within such a light to moderate frame, though tannins don’t bear the same aggressiveness as Barolos. Still, the age worthiness of these Ramiscos could easily outlive me. Needle like acidity & Gorgeous red fruits. Doesn’t feel like infanticide. Have two bottles by another Colares producer which hopefully I can resist In the next few decades. Paired beautifully with baked chicken thighs with Medjol dates, lemons, thyme, & shallots. — a year ago
This afternoon was a treat having the 2013 Luciano Sandrone La Vigne Barolo.
On the nose was some alcohol at first that blew off with a little time, cherry, raspberry, strawberry, licorice, tar, clove, rose petal, leather and earth.
On the palate you will find cherry, raspberry, plum, licorice, clove, mint, spice and dusty earth.
This wine is full bodied and a powerful mouthfeel with medium + acidity and medium + to high smooth sandy tannins that leads to a long elegant fruit finish. A beautiful wine that won't disappoint. Enjoy the coming weekend and please stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 5 years ago
Extremely refreshing and easy to drink. Dry. — 6 years ago
My cold is persisting, so it is going to have to answer to another shot of old peaty. The dark cove is a good quality Ardbeg, but a little boring. The 10 still excites me every time, even after 2 decades of drinking it. Sadly, it does not make as good of a toddy as the Ardbog. I trust the medicinal value is not diminished! — 7 years ago
Tropical citrus fruit, stone, easy drinking — 3 months ago
A lot going on for a Pinot gris. Lots of green apple. But also melon which is unexpected. Awesome minerality and great acidity. Paired well with our mushroom risotto from the farm box. — 4 months ago
Complex, juicy and spicy, Willamette Pinot Noir, with slightly astringent finish, birthday gift (Urban Grape) — 3 years ago
Dry, light, nice merlot! — 4 years ago
Elk Cove’s sparkling isn’t produced every year, but when it is it’s a stunning sparkler! This vintage doesn’t disappoint. Lovely mousse, strawberries on the nose and delicate toast and berries with lychee in the palate. It is simply delicious. Glad I have another! — 5 years ago
Summer in a wine glass. Tastes like warm sunshine kissed fruit with a wonderful lingering Pinot berry mouthfeel. It's so good. And 2017 is now all 100% estate fruit with limited production so get it while you can! Best served slightly chilled but not cold. Room temp is good too. — 6 years ago
Very refreshing, lots of pear and gooseberry, but not too sweet. Perfect on a warm day served chilled. — 7 years ago
