PNP. Well balanced and plenty of runway. Cheers @Aaron Pott — 9 years ago
Kent signed this one for me back in the day. Picked up a subtle sweetness after all of these years with plenty of runway left. Could have waited — 9 years ago
2005 vintage. Nothing wrong here. Still kinda inky and a bit concentrated, but figured it was time to try 1/4 bottles. Pretty good now, but should enjoy a nice long runway. — 9 years ago
Citrus, yellow apples, a touch of honey and a little pineapple. Lots of complexity and nuance. Beautifully developed but plenty of runway left on this evidence. A very good bottle indeed. — 10 years ago
Closed nose, typical of old world juice. On the palette, consistent old world notes of herbs, tobacco, cherries, along with a dry, but sweet finish. Nice weight and mouthfeel. Easily another 10 years of runway in the bottle. — 10 years ago

Ripe and racy. Wet stones, lemon rind, apricot, hibiscus tea on the nose. Creamy, flinty, smokey lemon drops on the palate. Full bodied style packed with acid and minerality. Lots of runway to improve. — 11 years ago
Good wine — 12 years ago
AG nailed the notes for this wine, so I won’t duplicate. But on the nose and palate, I also detect kirsch liqueur, hints of licorice and anise. This wine has not moved since it was bottled. It presents with purity and power. Easily possesses another 20 years of runway ahead of it. Sheer ecstasy in a glass. My favorite Rhône producer. — 8 years ago
Very impressive. Clean, balanced herbaceousness, deep color without high alcohol or disjointed tannins. I can't say whether this is a great vineyard but it is certainly great winemaking from a vintage that tempted with ripeness. Plenty of aging runway left here. Can it last 15? I don't know but I'd sure like to see it at 10. — 9 years ago
Classic cornas. Ripe but great balance. In a nice place now but plenty of runway. — 9 years ago
Wifey went to see the rents for the weekend. I was left with no choice, but to hunt and provide for myself. Cooked a beef bolognese with jacket potatoes. Paired with a brilliant bottle of juice, gifted by @David L. Having just submitted a major stats assignment, I'm getting back to honing my mortal kombat skills 🙂
From the nose, it's immediately apparent that this is not your typical, extravagant cab. It's much more restrained, tilting more toward a Bdx, than Napa. Aromatics offer up notes of coffee, black tea and kirsch. The palette is perfectly proportioned with black cherries, a hint of licorice and herbs. The ensemble is completed with with plush tannins, poise, balance and grace. It doesn't require food, but it shows great flexibility with it. No hurry to drink this. It has another 7 years of runway ahead of it. 14.7 abv.
David and Kirsten - thank you so much. — 10 years ago

We like this a lot. Deep fruity and jammy flavors with coffee and chocolate notes. — 10 years ago
One of the best pinots I have tasted in the last 12 months.
It adopts a crystalline appearance in the glass. The nose is delicate and restrained with pomegranate, raspberries, cola and cinnamon.
It's profile on the palette is seductive and concentrated. Oak is pushed into the background so that the primary notes of cherries, plums and strawberries come to the fore. Not overly extracted, with polished tannins. Good acidity, with just enough tension.
This has runway ahead of it. A truly outstanding example which represents the varietal perfectly. — 10 years ago

The nose is a little muted and nondescript. Maybe spice box and cherries.
The palette is ethereal. Polished, finishing long and sweet. Drinking perfectly now, but has another 7 - 10 years of runway :0) — 11 years ago
OMG... and not because of the wannabe "Real Housewives of New Jersey" this evening in Runway 84 in Ft. Lauderdale... Ralph and Las Olas crew hosting, with famed Bahamian Lobster thief Ryan G... Such immediate fruit, black cherry, black currant, candy... 16.5 on the alcohol, you would never know it... Loving this Italian and not the "Big Ang" look-a-like to my right.... — 12 years ago
Just cracked opened the case, which was purchased en premieur from the winery. AG nailed this note, too. Needs lots of air, but exhibits a textbook Bdx expression. Fresh coffee roast notes, co-mingle with black fruits. This has another 20 years of runway ahead of it as the tannins are robust. This will further improve with more cellaring. — 8 years ago
It's a fucking 10! Like all the best fruits and flowers from my life all mixed together, each presenting their best evening wear one at a time down the runway in measured succession. Yeesh. — 9 years ago

Took a while to open up. Complex nose of cedar, clove, Vicks vaporub , balsam, nutmeg, and menthol. The palate is savory; black pepper bacon, roasted lamb, rosemary, some briary red berry fruit. Finishes a bit austere. Get it now, not much runway left here. — 9 years ago

Paul T, Missing My Beautiful Wife 24/7
Wait what? Not sure I'm supposed to like that🤔Great surprise of lightness and variety of flavor. Like a runway for a 1920s airplane — 9 years ago
Love the vine cliff wines - 16 rows is my fav but their standard cab is great too - the 2007 is a 99 pointer - have 12s and now 13s - dark fruit complimented with a nose that would make jimmy Durante inhale deeply with a giant smile - decanted 90 mins - legs that would embarrass and make runway models jealous - the taste is big bold and beautiful - just the way I like it and says NAPA!!! - smiling hard tonight - ps - broke a damn wine glass but still smiling — 10 years ago

A very respectable wine from the Applegate, showcasing the varietals they do best. Each varietal takes a turn at the forefront, doing a quick walk and spin down the runway for your palate, and then making way for the next. The 20 month barrel age is apparent in the balanced oak profile and silky mouth feel. I first tasted this wine in the tasting room at Troon, and tonight I'm patting myself on the back for picking up a bottle. — 10 years ago
Really nice heady cocktail of kirch and cherries on the nose. On the palette, the tannins are in the foreground, but the layered texture is evident. Classic Napa cab with plenty of runway ahead of it. Excellent! — 11 years ago
Thursday night and back at Runway 84 in Ft. Lauderdale... This wine is a good find. The only thing better than this wine and besides Shelly's dramatic weight loss is his shirt/tie pairings... I mean what the F---? Me and Ralph are convinced that you have not picked up an issue of GQ in the last 10 years... — 12 years ago
Patrick Derdeyn
A really pretty syrah. Very light translucent red with crisp red fruits. Strawberry, cranberry, and rose petal. A huge runway for development here, would love to try this again in 5yrs. — 8 years ago
