Double decanted. So smooth and so classic Bordeaux. Cigar box, purple fruit, integrated tannins and oak. Still drinking strong. — 9 months ago
I suppose since this is Castello di Ama I shouldn’t be surprised it’s very good. Gobs of ripe fruit and freshness on the nose, with a nice crushed rock background. In the mouth, it’s dry, fresh as heck, and has good concentration and balance. Totally dry. Phenomenal with Chinese takeout on a warm evening. — 2 years ago
Last night I opened the 2015 Baer Star Merlot Stillwater Creek Vineyard Columbia Valley. A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is black cherry, cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, chocolate, allspice and black pepper.
On the palate there is cherry, black cherry, blackberry, red currant, licorice, espresso, and chocolate.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and medium to + acidity with medium soft fine tannins that leads into a long black fruit finish. The weekend is fat approaching again and lets look forward to having a great weekend. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Very nice pinot. Paired perfect with lamb and gnocchi. Gift from Carmen as part of case deal. — 5 years ago
2016 vintage, very reliable fun wine for the budget. Easy drinking yet flavorful. — 6 years ago
Wow. Almost Chardonnay-like. A bit buttery. Great with fish. — 6 years ago
Double decanted two nights before service. The 2013 Insignia pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears and some signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing but still quite youthful with notes of tart and ripe dark fruit: dense brambles, purple flowers, tobacco, vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. At 11 years of age, this remains tightly coiled and needs more time to open up and tell more of its story. All that being said, this is very good now…but to my palate, better after 2027 and through 2043. — 6 months ago
Deep purple color.
Aromas of roasted cocoa, asparagus, baked black fruit.
Dry. Flavors of baked blackberry, green notes, blackberry leaf, vanilla. Rich velvety tannins. High acidity. The green notes diminish the flavor.

An interesting Red blend from Bethlehem.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice long legs.
Tangy finish with medium, round tannins.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, vanilla, wood, earth, barnyard, vegetables, spices, smoke and dark coffee.
Soft and smooth and very enjoyable. Feels like an old world wine.
Had it blind and called Austrian red. Wrong.
Made with local grapes grown around the winery. Organic.
13% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Girl. Sup? Shoot. This was utterly brilliant tonight. Classic Bordeaux yet, even at 26 years young, somewhat precocious still. A beautiful mix of deep, dark and red fruit with currants, blackberries and cherries with chocolate, purple flowers, green pepper, tobacco, earth, leather and awesomeness. Plenty of structure to keep this strutting for years to come. Fabulous balance and complexity. Drink now through 2047+. — 8 months ago
Last time i took out the purple cowboy was a lot different but it was great to enjoy this one and not need a new sofa. — 2 years ago
Seemed an appropriate Christmas wine. Can’t rave enough about Kf wines. QPR is a little whack but it delivers. Way too young to open but ran it through the Venturi a few times and it showed really pretty red fruit, elegant wine. Hold for several years before trying again. — 4 years ago
Light-bodied and delicious. Perfect for socializing! — 5 years ago
I sure like this one. Dark purple, big jammy dark fruit, cocoa and coffee flavors. A real treat — 6 years ago

Blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark ruby color with some purple highlights and a slightly garnet rim. Aromas of kirsch, dark chocolate and a slight hint of menthol. The palate notes dark plums, chocolate cake, beef jerky, tobacco and orange zest. A touch of baking spices on the long and lingering earthy finish. Medium-plus body, chewy tannins and firm texture. Great complexity. Appreciate you sharing, John P. — 5 months ago
