Had the 2018 a couple of months back and trying to save my next few bottles for the next 5yrs or so (I think Vegas has the over under at 2). Usual flavor profile, but feels like it’s packed in a bit more and denser than usual. Looking forward to it unfurling over time. — 6 years ago
2017 Memorious Pinot Noir
2017 Bloom’s Field Pinot Noir
2017 La Côte Pinot Noir
2017 Sous le Chene Pinot Noir
2014 Sandhi Blanc de Blancs
All Pinot Noirs were delicious. Memorious tasted some spice with black pepper. Bloom’s Field showed darker fruits. La Côte was fuller in body and riper on aromas. Sous le Chene had the best concentration and the most complex profile with hint of wild bouquet. The Blanc de Blancs was refreshing with a tad of funkiness, possibly from VA and a little oxidation, 3 years on lees, all adding to the character.
What’s especial about Sous le Chene is that it’s sourced from this 10 rows of vines literally right next to La Côte but you can somehow really taste the difference between the two. — 6 years ago
Nearly opaque reddish purple hue. Raspberry, black cherry, leather, violets, and baking spices evident on the nose. On the palate its bold with a darker fruit profile offering impressive depth and concentration yet with nice balance and 14.1% alcohol. Long, somewhat spicy finish. Really nice value in California Pinot at $36. — 7 years ago
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petite Verdot, 6% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc — 8 years ago
An instant favorite blend. Like a chocolate covered cherry bomb, but with more layers that I can’t explain. Medium to light tannins but the flavor profile more than make up for it. — 8 years ago
Very supple tannins, but good acidity
Classic Lopez de Heredia profile, v recognisable
Nose - classic bouquet of woodsmoke, blood orange, dried cherry, aged meat, and a very faint hint of sweet vanilla.
Palate - medium bodied, immediately hit with a burst of blood orange, cherry, the hallmark of these wines. Rich, but very precise, with firm acidity and dusty tannins. Very savoury, with tangy acidity and a pleasing finish.
Drinking very well now but will age. I adore this style of rioja. — 5 years ago
Absolutely terrific. It’s probably a bit past peak - lacking a little in acidity - but the fruit profile is fantastic. Lots of primary flavors, which is impressive given its age. Even though this sustained for a long time in the glass, I suspect this is going to start going downhill within the next few years. But it’s really drinking great right now! — 8 years ago

Charming, textbook mature Chinon with freshly ground black pepper and barely ripe raspberry. With air, a more exotic spice profile unfurls alongside earthy and floral flourishes. Fresh and lively in the mouth, with lightly gripping tannins promising another decade of aging potential. A compact wine, but complex, and complete from nose to finish. Imported by Louis Dressner, this vintage was purchased recently at Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. — 8 years ago
2019 Disgorgement is in the zone with its ultra complex aromatic profile and chiseled palate with riveting energy and a seamlessly balanced expression of layered red berry fruit and chalky minerality. VO base with a touch of still Pinot from Francis Egly. Always a treat ❤️ — 4 years ago
What a special treat! Profile similar to an old red burg, earth, smoke, and so delicate. — 6 years ago
Decanted for three hours and immediately described as “universally appealing”, this is not only the WOTN but my WOTY. Utterly perfect, except perhaps enjoyed ever-so-slightly too soon. Remarkable winemaking. Concentrated flavour profile of cherry, strawberry, chocolate, violets, and very minimal earthy tones. Still on the upswing and not fully mature, despite the pleasure it was. Medium plus body, medium acidity. Extremely long. Possibly the best wine I’ve tasted to date. Can’t wait to try a “good” year. — 6 years ago

2011 vintage. Sandalwood and dark cherry in a light nose. Medium bodied with a slight candied cherry, tea and milk chocolate profile along with decent acidity/tannins. A polished, medium-length finish. Pretty but not a blockbuster as with the Montelena days of yore. Decanted for two hours. — 8 years ago

Served at room temp, which was off-putting from the start. Very typical Bdx profile with understated oak and fruits on the nose. Mid-palate offers softish tannins and moderate acidity. Finishes with length. Drink em if you have em. Represents good value from this region. — 3 years ago
