2020 spring / summer. This bottle was more primary than the other recent 2016 but as enjoyable as ever. — 5 years ago
This note is really about potential more than anything else. I found this bottle to be waaaaay to young. It’s got the fruit and the structure to be outstanding but it’s just too primary; all knees and elbows. I would hold these for another few years before checking back in. — 6 years ago
Great Torre in the making. Still very primary and upon opening shy nose with acidity and tannins dominating. After 30min slow-ox and getting up to temp the nose opens revealing hints of whats coming with florals, red berries, some forest floor. Similarly fruit picks up in intensity, tannins soften and wine turns to nice young nebbiolo balance. This is very much red fruited with gread mid palate intensity and additional depth still lurking in need of bit more bottle age. After 2h the wine begins to shut down confirming it's still work in progress. If you like excellent young barbaresco and empty your bottle withing 2h feel free and pop. However I'll store my remaining ones for 2-3 more years to get bit more complexity and developed notes I adore in Produttoris bottlings — 7 years ago
An evening of Lynch-Bages with Stephen Bolger. Included 04 Dom Rose and a 95 Heidsieck Millenaires, ‘16 LB Blanc and the. A beautiful cascade of wines including 1961, 1970, 1975, 1986, 1989, 1996, 2000 and 2005. I would say the 1989 was surprisingly closed and primary and everything after, while still having a beautiful perfume, needed much time. Everything showed beautifully and my personal favorite was actually the 1975 because it was such a tough-as-nails vintage and yet showed a beautiful delicacy. Splitting hairs to pick a favorite. One of my favorite estates just jumped even higher in my estimation! — 7 years ago

A brilliant bottle! Beautifully balanced with great internal structure and superb primary and secondary flavors! — 8 years ago
2 hour decant. Medium garnet color. Pronounced developed complex nose of blackcurrant, black cherries, lavender, leather, cedar and tobacco. Dry with youthful medium+ acidity and softened but still present medium+ tannin that give the wine a beautiful backbone and structure. Medium alcohol and full body. Pronounced flavors across primary secondary and tertiary notes (mirroring the nose described but perhaps with a hint of also red berries). Long finish. Outstanding and given acidity and tannin should last for a while longer perhaps as another 10 years+. — 5 years ago
Primary but delicious. Hard to hold but need to see what this is like in 5yrs — 7 years ago
2002 - at 16yr old this is still very much a baby. Still primary but with incredible balance on a finish that just doesn’t quit. You can see the potential here as there are easily 20-30 years of further development. I hope I can keep my hands off the rest of the bottles to one day see it at it’s peek - it’s easy to see why these go for the prices they do. World class! — 7 years ago
Beautifully concentrated dark blue fruit. Lovely salinity and a blueberry intensity. Gorgeously savory palate. Primary, young and brooding. Excellent — 8 years ago
2008 vintage in January 2021. Double-decanted 2 hours before serving. That was helpful as it opened into a big wine that is still fairly primary with big fruits and some graphite. Plenty of backbone and will last another 7-10 years easily but want to try this again in 1-2. — 5 years ago
Dark tawny. Almost opaque. Tart fruit nose. Notes of tart cherries, tart rhubarb, tart oak bark, tart spice and a little tart mocha and tart menthol. Rich fruit in the mouth. A bit hot. Still primary. Needs more time in the bottle, or lots of time in the decanter to open up. — 6 years ago
From the other night. Popped and poured. Consumed over three hours. Compared to the 2014 Marcoux we had before, this is a ride to funky town. Super concentrated dark cherries and garrigue on the nose. Tart cherries and spices on the palate. Nice concentration but quite primary at this stage and much stiffer tannins than the Marcoux. In typical Pegau fashion, this should age quite nicely. Drink now with patience; good through 2024 at least. — 8 years ago

A crescendo of aromas leap from the glass. Vibrant and energetic palate, still quite youthful! It’s so complex, expressive and layered with the perfect balance of primary and secondary characteristics. A gastronomic Champagne that is in a perfect place. — 4 years ago
