Spring Mountain Vineyard

Miravalle-La Perla-Chevalier Red Blend 1998

1998 vintage. Tasted after being open for 30 minutes. Not decanted. Wasn’t the best vintage for valley floor juice but hillside/mountain derived stuff showed decently then. This showed as expected but better than most would have surmised. 07.15.25. — a month ago

Isenhower Cellars

Prima Rosa Yakima Valley Barbera Rosé 2021

Second encounter with this vintage. Paired well with steamed fish, ginger and olive paste with a side of veggie stir fry. Side project: propagating rosemary for a pot of culinary flavor magic. Perhaps we’re becoming Roman… — 3 years ago

Pegasus Bay

Prima Donna Pinot Noir 2017

Deep ruby. Dark sweet plum, salty and floral. The palate is med-full bodied, med acidity, soft-med tannin. There is a dark savoury element that gives the wine gravitas. Beautiful balance. Power without weight. Powerful and beautiful. — 2 years ago

Quinta do Vallado

Prima Douro Moscatel Galego Branco 2020

Deep, vivid violet. Oak-spiced dark berries, mocha and violet on the deeply perfumed nose. Deep, jammy black and blue fruit and vanilla flavors show good energy, and a peppery note adds spicy lift on the back half. The vanilla notes carry through the clinging, rounded finish, which is framed by well-knit tannins. Malo and 15 months of aging in new and used French oak barrels.
