I just found this hiding in our cellar, given the age on the wine, I thought that this would need to be dispatched with urgency. I could not have been further from how it actually presented.
The nose is lively and almost raucous. Loads of cherry jam and cinnamon. The palate is dense and compact, showing absolutely no signs of aging. Cherries, cedar and sweet jam are joined by powerful tannins. I’m floored as to how well this has presented. Kudos to the winery. — 2 months ago
Med+ body, med acid and tannin… red cherry and vanilla aromas, red fruit flavor, caramel and woody; for a mass wine, somewhat simple, kinda big, but not exactly unlikeable. — 3 months ago
Light straw color with typical SB aromas adding a touch of floral mineral notes. On the palate flavors of melon and grapefruit with lemon citrus and honeysuckle notes, generous acidity, great mouthfeel with long finish ending with a salty spice mineral character. Nice wine! — 13 days ago

Strong and still accessible. This aged really nicely already with a nose of vanilla, blackberry and white pepper. — 19 days ago
This has just the perfect blend of syrah, merlot & cab. Goes down easy. Smooth and dry. — 2 months ago
A nice, clean and crisp Sauvignon blanc. There were flavors of lemon and apricot, and hints of dry and green grass all paired with a low minerality (which I always like). Easy drinking. Would love another bottle with lunch on a summer’s day. — 4 months ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Each wine in the series is named for a horse born to Maggy Hawk: Jolie, Afleet, Stormin’ and Unforgettable, and to her sire, Hawkster. Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with notes of dried herbs, citrus and woody spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cranberry and cherry with espresso, vanilla and herb tea spice, well balanced with acidity. Fine soft tannins on a long finish ending with cacao, spices and slight earthy character. Very nice! — 7 days ago
