Really fun bouquet of prune, black olives, cave stones, tire marks on warm asphalt, Vanilla Coke, dusty leather shop. Palate of stewed black cherry and plum, olive, notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Soft and mild but tannins still have good grip; juuuust passing its peak I think but still super drinkable — 15 days ago
I haven’t had a nice Bordeaux in a while but i typically cruise the affordable side, hoping for gems. This was a pleasant surprise. Some wood and perfume on the nose. Dark fruit, I saw someone said cassis and I can go with that - full body but with some brightness and good structure. Noticeable but integrated tannins… I’m in a good state of mind and this is brining a swell of life appreciation - can’t prove that’s on account of this exact wine but that’s the black magic of it all, eh? — 15 days ago
Love this estate. Poor man’s Petrus. Not really but fun to say Plummy, earth and bittersweet cocoa on the nose. Really complex spices also develop with air. Gorgeous aromas. Really classy. Needs mega air to get going but it’s all there. Palate is rich and rile but with terrific freshness and purity. This is a backwards wine. I forgot how backwards when young a great Bordeaux can be. Superb concentration and easily the most elegant Samion ever. The finish is crazy long and detailed. With so much cassis and elegant tannins that are perfectly integrated with the fruit. This is superb. — 23 days ago
Good Pomerol from one of the appellation’s largest estates, with around 12 hectares on the southern part of the plateau (in an area known for its iron-rich clay subsoils, known locally as “crasse de fer”). 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc, aged for 12 months in oak barrel. Aromas of dark fruit, plums, chocolate and earthy notes. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated. Noticeable tannins — 5 days ago
Dark purple garnet with near black core and color to the rim. Inviting nose of ashy blueberry and dried flowers. Full-bodied palate yields blueberry, plum, and ripe blackberry, with a hint of graphite and violet mid-palate on. Medium acidity and subtle, medium minus tannins. Finish is lengthy and continues the palate. A great intro to the upper echelons of Pomerol for the novice. Checks off all of the boxes except long term ageability (which, of course, is why it's not La Violette). Drink now through 2026. — a month ago
Roasted beef tips in a heavy savory sauce, rotisserie chicken, butter green beans, and some yeaty rolls. Frankly this wine would’ve been excellent without them but with them it just shown brightly. Complement the food wonderfully and expressed great flavors of cherry, cocoa, restrained fruit, and just all sorts of wonderful floral aromatics. Never overwhelming, a complement to everything, and I wish I had more. — 25 days ago
NOSE:cassis, black cherry, leather, both baking spices and savoury herbs (like nutmeg and bay leaf). Plum and mulberry. Nutty vanilla. Smells like proper, grown-up wine - though not especially heavy.
TASTE: initially very good. Dry, bitter cassis, cherry, herbs, medium weight with nice velvety mouthfeel - but not a lot of the other fruit from the nose (more air improved). Tannins bring a long, dry, bitter finish - sticks on the tongue- burnt-plant. There’s a bitter herbaceousness that is almost like straight cassis berries (which I have in my backyard, so speaking from experience) - very elegant in its way. Went very well with steak and smoothed out with air, the dark fruit became more prominent...I think a long decant is in order. Many different impressions here … real stuff. 91-92. — 2 days ago

Super beau au nez qui est très classique mais surtout en bouche, soyeux avec une texture riche mais fine en même temps, non dénué de fraîcheur, belle longueur, prix raisonnable pour un Pomerol et qu’on peut apprécier maintenant. 92-93
Very nice classic nose but the palate is even better, silky and fresh texture, finesse and class with still some power and good, potential, nice length as well. Reasonably priced Pomerol that can be enjoyed now also. — 10 days ago
