Very nice. Unusual. More Chardonnay like than Riesling. Darker, richer, and a bit of caramel. But also some grassy or herbal notes. Only 11.5% al. Great balance. — 6 years ago
This anejo tastes like brandy! Maybe they all do; I’m no tequila expert. To me, however, it was a revelation. After keeping the bottle entombed in its special painted box for a decade and a half, my wife Dreama and I enjoyed this nectar with terrific sushi at Pearl Dragon in Pacific Palisades, sharing it with Ryo, Johnny and Eric, the superb itamae/server crew who always takes care of us there. — 7 years ago
Dont drink the last two bottles, note to self! Another zelig of whites, so much development to go but is drinking prettily now. Still young w much snappy apple-ness, encased in a yeasty & mineral pearl. Had w mussels in saki & parsley, & simply sauteed trout. Yum — 8 years ago
Riesling made with fruit from a satellite vineyard (hence the name). Very atypical but still pretty delicious. So atypical in fact that it was submitted for VQA as a blend instead of a 100% Riesling, which it is. — 8 years ago

2010 vintage. At Pearl & Ash on the Lower East Side (amazing wine list) with Kish. Deep ruby hue. Blackberry, leather, earth and savoury spice. Lots of white pepper and pencil shavings. Youthful. On the palate, great piercing acidity, medium plus concentration, medium alcohol, medium plus crunchy tannins. Long savoury finish. Really shouldn't have opened as this is still a baby. Clearly big and bold. Don't open until 2025+. Will drink forever: 2040+. — 10 years ago
Haut-Bailly Dinner in SF with Veronique Sanders of Haut-Bailly.
The 2012 is living up to its reviews. It’s good & well priced. The dark fruits are ripe, juicy, cola notes, menthol, dark, moist, turned earth. Drinking nicely now but, still a hold for another 5 years plus.
Served with Coq au Vin. Baby Carrots, Mushrooms, Pearl Onions & Red Wine Sauce. Mathilde French Bistro

I had this by the glass a few weeks ago and was disappointed but giving a second try out of the bottle has changed my opinion quite a bit. We decanted it for 30 minutes, mostly for aesthetic quality (why the heck not?) so maybe that had a bit to do with the overall taste. Such a truly beautiful translucent ruby colour - like stained glass. A bit o' tannin I was surprised by. Could definitely offer a LOT for diverse food pairings (I know, you're welcome for that insight about Pinot noir....) Young vines really showing in a fun way. Classic P-Morissette does Burgundian style. Cranberry, red purple flowers, black tea leaves, NICE potting soil (not the stuff you can get at dollarama). Would recommend to a friend. Oh also I drank this out of a brandy glass because #myparents . — 8 years ago
Decanted and enjoyed over a few hours. Intense aroma of dark forest fruit, dried plums and herbs, some funk. Taste is well balanced, rich with tart wild raspberries and jam. Long finish. Has a bracing acidity and the slightest fizz that fades by the end of the first glass. Resolves to a nicely balanced acidity with moderate tannins that leave you wanting more. This is my first taste of Clos Saron in several years, and I'm reminded why my mind was blown initially. This won't be an everyday go-to but I appreciate how unique this wine is. Would love to share the next bottle with some open minded friends. — 8 years ago
Really love this wine. Tremendous character here from the winemakers treatment. Great touch of oxidization. — 9 years ago
What can you say; these guys really know what they're doing. Irreverence is such a lovely blend with so many unique flavors.
You can note the wild yeast in the nose, and taste all the goodness in the sip.
You really should try this. Absolute stars of Ontario wine making. — 6 years ago
Big words: best red wine PM has ever made. So joyous and energetic! The kind of wine that takes you out of conversation to remark on how delicious the wine tastes at every sip! Light sparkly texture is right up my alley personally. Lovely tart fruit and some forest notes. I would find it hard to grow tired of this wine, could drink a bottle every day. — 7 years ago
Good frivolous prosecco with an impressive pearl. Freshness of a green apple, yellow plum, white flowers, grass. Sufficiently acidic with an average body. Most Italian dry or semi-sweet sparkling wines are made in this Charmat-Martinotti way. I liked it very much. — 8 years ago
Sour cherries, strawberries, cedar, green peppers, black pepper, herbs and slate. Complex. Give it some time out of the bottle to open it up. — 8 years ago

I aggressively disagree with the ratings for this wine. Deep purple in color. Graphite, plum, and green pepper on the nose. An initial hit of sweet and fruit on the palate that then finishes with medium tannins, a bit of oak, and a good earthiness on the finish. Pair with salty, rich food. — 5 years ago
