Juicy, funkilicious! Easy to drink, noticable tainnins but still soft and enough to drink on its own without feeling the "grip" in my mouth. — 6 years ago
Blackberry jam, a bit of pencil lead, caramel, almond milk, a menthol thing too. Very inviting. The palate is very well balanced and shows a big bright fruit upfront and a nice, tender texture with a soft touch on the sides. It's very round. You can feel the acid backbone lurking underneath but you make it more than feeling it. Some tannins spice things up in the rear and lay a spicy layer in in the rear. A very long fruity finish with blackberry and other red berries finishes up this very good wine. It packs quite a punch but it's very easy going at the same time. A good testimony of its varietal. — 6 years ago

Trying out my new Zalto Bordeaux glasses with Cali cab. This wine is easy peasy. It will not challenge you but sometimes that’s okay. Very ripe tannins and purpley fruit and there is a whiff of pepper to give a little edge. I have a feeling this may be a highly engineered act but I guess that’s why it’s a Freakshow. — 6 years ago

The blend Freakshow is better than the Cabernet Freakshow, so at least you picked the right one. The Freakshow Zin isn’t bad either.
This is a serious value (12,5€ or 16 USD in retail here in Poland) . Cherry, raisins, almonds very seductive nose. The palate is well balanced. Rather simple with some strong acid backbone, loads of ripe cherry with a sweet layer that bring some roundness to the overall feeling of this palate. Discreet tannins before a fresh finish with fruits. This is really easy going and confirming that I'm really into ripasso and amarone from veneto lately. I have a similar crush with it that I had a year ago with nice crus from Beaujolais — 7 years ago
Tingly and effervescent feeling on the tongue and smooth to swallow. Lightly jammy. Easy to throw back! — 8 years ago
lovely 100% nebbiolo Israeli pet nat.
11.3% abv
nebbiolo is obviously a rarity in israel wine, but here it is, made in a different than usual way.
wild fermentation. no s02.
we love easy going pet nats at home.
after being opened the bubbles slowly climbed out of the bottle. pouring it it screamed 'I'm alive! so alive! feels good to be alive, ain't it?'
medium + acidity
medium - body.
light and not too complex. grapey with some pomegranate and raspberry hints. and a creamy feeling reminding me forest fruit pie.
paired lovely with a vibrant salad of cauliflower, apricot, hazelnut, spring onions, cilantro, nana(local mint), grana padano cheese and lemon 🍯olive oil sauce. and also great olive bread and seitan 'shawarma' and tahini.
i said i need more nebbiolo in my life, a few more like this is great but only as addition to some barolo, barbaresco and langhe nebbiolo. — 5 years ago
Light feeling on the palate , easy to drink , very good with pasta with mushrooms — 6 years ago
Absolutely wonderful. Nice vanilla bourbon on the nose. A gentle and easy sip while still feeling aged. Fruity as well. So wonderful. Great with Unami & Dijon Turkey burgers! — 6 years ago
Yummy sipping wine - easy to drink before a meal or after. Light and fruity without feeling like I’m drinking fruit juice. Delish! — 6 years ago
So easy drinking
Fruit that goes from blueberry to nectarines
Shades and details
Mushrooms and pencil lead,
And definitely lots more
Textural feeling is the epitome of the Oz fist in the velvet glove.
Extraordinarily persistent
Tannin that caresses your palate
Still a fair way to go
All in balance with power no decadent at all — 6 years ago

Smooth, easy drinking, mellow feeling — 8 years ago
Drank in Providence - kind if effervescent feeling at first and then mellows out. Light and easy to drink — 8 years ago
Bubbles. Lots of bubbles. A little dryer and less sweet compared to other champagnes. Easy to drink and a true feeling of luxury — 5 years ago
Golden yellow hue
On nose spicy oak is evident, but not overpowering
Lemon, goose berry, wet stone like minerality. On palate oak gives peppery and creamy feeling. Again lemon, lime, white currant. Medium acidity, mid weight and clearly has stuffing for atleast few years of aging. When wine warms up the oak takes bit too large role. Best served around 10 degC when it's wonderfully fresh. Goes down dangerously easy and worked great with grilled jumbo shrimps — 6 years ago
Bright beige with full white mousse and fine persistent bubbles. Highly aromatic nose of red apple and strawberry. Baked apple, dark toast, and red berry on the razor-like palate. Lean for a Blanc de Noirs, but still substantial feeling in the mouth. Medium short dark finish. 100% Pinot Munier gives a nice change or pace from the norm. Very satisfying in all respects both with food and on its own. Support grower producers! This should make it easy. — 6 years ago

It’s pretty easy to over-do Syrah in this location. Desire Lines does a phenomenal job of keeping dessert-like pleasure and seriousness of terroir in check. Lifted and fruited like a modern northern Rhône or Cru beaujolais with a little less seriousness to boot but also this is young and booming. Held straight for 5 days. Get the feeling that this will resolve very slowly over time to show more what earthy and cool characteristics it has in its hand. This wine feels extremely stable and a kaleidoscope of possibilities lay herein. — 6 years ago
Hot damn this delicious. Over delivering on all fronts. Perfect balance of whole cluster, extract and oak integration. From a plot above the Côte Brune on a plateau of schist and clay which creates a nice plumpness on the palate balanced by the acid profile of this wind-exposed site above the Côte Rôtie. Deeply hued, vibrant and seductively ripe blackberry and huckleberry notes, sweet smoked meat, roasted earth, olive tapenade, lavender, leather, tobacco, wood smoke, mocha. The juice and joyous feeling make for an easy drink but theres structural stuffing here to add a serious side. Can’t wait to revisit. — 7 years ago
Lightly Smokey, peppery finish, dark plum, light feeling to taste. Really easy and light to drink. — 8 years ago

This bottle of 2016 Vice Versa “Dr. Crane Vineyard” (BBS) was generously provided by a friend who selected it from his cellar to share over dinner at V. Mertz. This is the BBS (Best Barrel Select) of the Dr. Crane Vineyard which, I guess, is deemed the best tasting barrel by the winemaking team. Popped and poured. No formal notes but I can state with absolutely certainly that the juice is well and truly special. The wine is still quite youthful but already very easy to love. Beautifully layered dark fruits with tobacco, cocoa, stone-like minerals and deftly integrated baking spices. The structure is firm, leaving little doubt about the long life yet ahead. That being said, everything is so well balanced. I have a very strong feeling this will be one of those wines that never really shuts down. While they are two very different wines from different parts of the world, I found this to be a very handsome compliment to the 2015 “Tintot” we drank just before. This was also very nice with the lamb chops we had for dinner. Drink now or through 2036.
