Blend of mostly Cab Sauv, small amount of Cab Franc, aged 26 Mos in 75% New French Oak, grapes from their St. Helena Estate. Deep Ruby, enticing aromas of red berry fruit, sweet spice with secondary aromas of herb & leather. Palate, flavors of raspberry, cranberry & cherry fruit, herb pepper, cacao, cedar & vanilla spice with slight creamy texture. Fine soft tannins, nicely integrated with acidity, great mouthfeel, a big wine with a long finish ending with fruit & oaky notes. Perfect now! — 4 years ago
Big fan of the entire Patz & Hall portfolio this Chardonnay is a good example why...starts with toasted hazelnut and wasabi on the nose. Well integrated acidity and oak. Soft, supple mouthfeel flashing flavors of honeysuckle, pear and ginger. Finish with lime, touch of oak and vanilla bean. — 8 years ago
A great offering from Patz, sourced from several fine vineyards, including Gap’s Crown, just to name one. Vivid Ruby with focused fruit aromas adding in spice and earthy notes. The palate shows a blast of fruit, cherry, cranberry, raspberry and touches of dark berries. Cinnamon spice weaves through the well structured zesty wine while noting the presence of developing tannins. The finish has great length and should keep nicely for up to 10 years. — 8 years ago
Compared side by side to the '13 Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast PN, this wine is a little funkier on the nose, drier in mouthfeel, and reveals less oak spice but a touch more heat on finish. (And its a better value🍷 for half the 💵 .) — 9 years ago
Lots of body for an 06. Still has a few more year to age. Nice age on the nose...kinda old world and light cigar wrapper flavor that lasts for a long time. — 9 years ago
A Champagne toast at Patz & Hall! — 10 years ago
First Bevan PN. I drink a fair amount of PN. Not much different than the Patz & Hall PN. Gamey meat on the nose and plum paste. Nice. Lush full throttle mouthfeel, reminds me of the Pisoni fruit-wild berries, mocha makes a nicely layered profile across the palate. The finish is the show, and it's big. Tannins integrate masterful flashing minerals and smoked berries. — 7 years ago
Very similar to Patz &Hall at a value price — 10 years ago

Nice green apple and floral aromas and a green apple and ginger palate. Vibrant acidity and a nice ginger nuance to the palate. — 4 years ago
I almost thought this one needed to be decanted. At first the nose out of the bottle and glass were quite muted. Eventually crushed gravel and dried herbs and yellow fruits emerged, but was rather subtle. Bright acidity throughout, fruit notes took a bit to start really expressing...overall this wine started expressing better after 30 minutes, but I still feel perhaps as if this wine could have expressed more and seemed a touch out of balance. Avg CT rating 93 based on 2 notes...I just didn't get that kind of experience. The complexity and expression of a 2015 Patz and Hall Hyde Chardonnay outdid this wine from nose to palate to finish, and I really would call these two styles to be quite similar. — 5 years ago

How does James Hall do it?! Deep ruby robe, medium-light body, slight spice on the nose, muted, elegant@red fruit mouth, supple finish. — 8 years ago
Delicious through and through! Hazelnut, almond, and a little caramel assist the pineapple, green pear and apple fruits. Slight amount of butter to the round mid palate but it is assisted by very nice acidity the entire time. Very nice long lingering finish! — 9 years ago
Love it more than any of the other single vineyards I tried from Patz and Hall. Excellent balance and transparency. — 10 years ago
