Given to me from Talon. Great! Much like a S. Blanc, but does nit have the grapefruit, lemon or kiwi taste — 6 years ago
Be patient. It opens tight and then blooms! — 7 years ago
Very easy to drink by itself. — 7 years ago
Poured it into a decanter, then through an aerator into the glass... worked splendidly... sitting in the glass for ~1 h also would have worked, but I was not that patient. — 9 years ago
This is a nice and easy drinking sparking wine from Italy.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate, tangy and engaging.
Showing citrus, green apples, herbs, earth, yeast and minerals.
Good by itself or with food. Needs 30 minutes to open up properly, so be patient. I've had it before, but never gave it the chance to breathe. Worth the wait.
12% alcohol by volume.

Weekend T-bone night needs a big red to match. The alcohol felt a tad strong here and this could still use another couple years to settle. Elegant yet powerful fruit and you get some mocha notes too as the wines gets more air. I usually wait 5yrs for a Morlet but could be more patient here. — 6 years ago
This is a good but slow to open-up #campodeborja that rewards the patient. Shy fruit on the nose, bright acidity and some earthy dark fruit, cocoa and vanilla. Nice dry earthy Grand Riserva. — 7 years ago
A very enjoyable Zinfandel from Sonoma County, California.
Showing dark berries with earth, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, graphite, dark coffee, tobacco and beef jerky.
A long tangy finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.
This still has 5 to 10 years in it.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show tannins. Wasn't that great right out of the bottle, so be patient.
A blend of 79% Zinfandel, 18% Petite Sirah and 3% Carignan. All from Dry Creek Valley. Aged for 13 months in American oak barrels.

Was dying to open this. It was young, but amazing. Great things to come for the patient. — 8 years ago
Almost sent this one back...popped the cork and threw it in a glass and so the nose was very dirty socks and old mushrooms. Luckily the best waitress ever told me to give it a minute in the decanter. She was right and the musk blew off and it was a great Knights Valley wine! Tannins were pronounced, color was deep garnet and the notes were blackberry and espresso with a medium finish. Will have to be more patient next time. — 9 years ago
It pays to be patient great wine — 9 years ago
#AgedWineTuesday
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. Not showing much age.
Nice nose of blueberries, blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, spices, coffee, light vegetables, herbs, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, pencil lead, black pepper and light medicine.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, cloves, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead, coffee, dark chocolates and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and coffee notes.
This is a nicely aged Bordeaux from the great 2009 vintage. Showing a great nose and mouthfeel.
Elegant with lots of fruits. Nicely balanced with nice complexity.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show its pretty nose, so be patient. Tannins come in after 90 minutes.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.
Tasty and spicy. A delicious wine.

Time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here's a great one from Bordeaux.
Dark ruby in color with a short brick rim.
Nice nose of black currants, cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, wood, dark coffee, light vegetables, pencil lead and black pepper.
Full bodied and gentle with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead, vinaigrette and wet leaves.
Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This third growth Left Bank Bordeaux, is starting to drink very nicely now. Nicely balanced with a big mouthfeel.
Earthy and spicy with lots of fruits. Already showing nice complexity, and beginning to show age on the palate.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show the big tannins, so be patient and don't drink it right out of the bottle.
This 10 year old is good by itself as a sipping wine to enjoy with friends.
Still young and needs 5 to 10 years in the bottle to mature.

I paired it with meats, cheeses and light appetizers.
A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 13.5% Cabernet Franc and 13.5% Petit Verdot.

A friend recommended. Always so difficult to sift through bad roses. Especially when you’re trying to pair with wood. Sure. On a hot day any Rose will do. But we really enjoyed this one in December. Rose petal. Strawberry. Watermelon. — 7 years ago

Aroma is low tide, sea stuff, salty sand. Super ripe drippy lemon, river stone, gorgeous at 7 years old. — 9 years ago
American Sangiovese!
As I recall, Shafer tried something similar with Firebreak. I loved that (past tense as it is no longer produced), but this is better.
The nose is earthy, yet dominated with cloves and cinnamon.
On the palete, its tightly knit. The wine is precise and polished. Tannins are ripe and muscular. Lovely berries and black olives define the flavor profile. Finishes with sweet tobacco.
Because of its youth, this needs air. It's a beautiful example that should be left to stretch it legs for at least 2 - 3 more years. My rating does not suggest where the wine could go three years from now. Be patient. I expect great things going forward. @Martin G Rivard thank you so much. — 9 years ago

Comparison between 05 and 18. 05 is crushing it. Such a beauty showing that an oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc-Sémillon blend can be this good, rivals with those best whites in burgundy. If you buy newer vintages, please be patient. Wait till at least 10 years to open it! — 5 years ago
