On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and plum, with cacao, tobacco and oaky notes. Nice balance, soft chewy tannins, long finish ending with creamy vanilla spice and cedar character. Let breathe for an hour and 20, absolutely delicious no sharp edge until about the 2 hour mark then down hill fairly quickly. Fantastic in the mean time though, had with steak, garlic ciabatta bread and sugar peas with chocolate Petit fours for dessert — 9 years ago

Lovely yellow hue opens up a powerful nose filled with dirt, grass, rice, and honeysuckle. The palate proceeds to get smothered with a perfect amount of oak coupled with honey and lemon. A mildly tart finish makes this the perfect summer white. Schweiger Vineyards '09 Cab Sauv, Spring Mountain, Napa Valley. Recently released, exemplifying their typical 5 year plan from harvest to release. The only other vintages of this particular wine which I have tasted are '05 & '06. All are consistently rich, smooth, & intricate across the floral, fruit, nut, & shoe leather spectri.
