Quite light green tinged , straw colour . Not very intense on the nose with some herbal hints cut herbs , citrus peel , light floral notes . On the palate this has quite good intensity , quite fresh with cut herbs , citrus , grapefruit and a saline, creamy texture . Balanced alcohol and quite good salty , sea spray , herbal tinged finish . Drinking well now and over the next 3-4 years . — 7 months ago

Nutmeg, cherries, spice, oak. I love Barbera — 6 years ago
What a stunning wine- bright medium lemon, crisp acidity and a glorious nose of apple, lemon, flint, smoke and just a hint of herbs. Beautiful balance and a long finish - this is a marvelously elegant triumph of wine making. Fabulous with food or on its own. Dazzling — 6 years ago

Subtle lime & stoney fruit, a strong mid palate & some complexity (& from what I read the potential for aging) 10.5% alcohol, a lovely slight effervescence completely blows away my negative biases @ Australian wines. I though at firstThat 20$ was a tad pricey-& thats 20$ on sale, but after i finished the bottle, its a bargain. — 7 years ago
Even though this wine is 27 years old I might have opened this a little early. This will cruise to its 40th birthday without a problem. This was the period when Hunter Valley decided to emulate the big ripe oaky styles of South Australia instead of sticking to the HV medium bodied savoury style which Maurice O’Shea himself pioneered back in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. A palate staining and concentrated palate of profound intensity with a black fruited perfume. An impressive wine but thankfully the Maurice O’Shea Shiraz of the last 10 to 15 years have returned to their medium bodied roots. — 7 months ago

Got careless and held this longer than intended. Didn’t matter. It was near perfect. — 10 months ago

Light golden color. Aromas of straw/hay, wet stones and Asian pear. Flavors of green melon, key lime, sour quince, beeswax, dried herbs and lemon zest. Touch of minerality on the lingering and quite refined finish. Mouth coating oily texture. Medium acidity and plush texture. Only 11% Alcohol. Quite unique and interesting. Solid QPR. — 7 months ago
Opaque black dark red colour with a bright red to dark hue. Smoky dark plum and liquorice scents and peppered clove scents Rich plum and liquorice fruits carry good weight and it has a plush feel across the palate. Scorched earth, dried meats, Very polished tannins yet structurally sturdy and firm. The long finish has black pepper characters. — 7 months ago
Oak, lime like herb in aroma. Rich, citrus, white flowers. Citrus, comfortable acidity. Each factor in the taste is showing the feature clearly. From Hunter valley which is an initial place for wine in Australia. Vat 47 Hunter Chardonnay Tyrrell’s 2018 @7546, Toscany JH, 231028-231111 — 2 years ago
Very surprised when I opened the wine list. My inner geek took over when I saw it was the same wine I consumed last week but a different vintage. A much less open and complex nose than the’11.
In the mouth this wine demonstrated greater freshness than the ‘11. Grapefruit like acidity put the fruit flavors at the forefront. Once again I was a little disappointed with the finish but I think in this case the wine truly needs time to unwind. — 6 years ago
Another quality find from the Bounty Hunter. Smoke, rocks, dark cherries and a whole lot of Cabernet goodness. — 7 years ago
An amazing full body on this one. Great balance and acidity. Stong aromas...notes of green peppercorn, candied plum, and a satisfying rasberry taste. Lots of gentle vanilla show a careful amount of oak influence. Great Chilean Carmenere! — 8 years ago

Vintage 2023 | very nice bouquet, that due to its smokiness made me think this was Chardonnay. Tasted blind. Tones of pear, peach and citrus. Rondeur. — 6 months ago
