Juicy nose, lacking fruit and oak slightly pointy today. Not the best showing of a good Syrah. — 4 years ago
Treads the middle path between citrus and stone fruit - more lighter than full bodied. From one of Australia’s Premier exponents of Chardonnay in David Bicknell. No malolactic. Opened another bottle 27 weeks later on 16th April 2020 with similar notes. Very well made and great drinking for the price. — 5 years ago
Tasty, but I may be bias 😛 — 7 years ago
Let it breath for a while and you won't be disappointed. A rich Pinot with good length. — 7 years ago
From Margaret River Chardonnay specialist, Pierro. Mid Lemon in colour. Mealy nutty aromas of almond and cashew. Restrained stone fruit with some ripe grapefruit on a medium bodied palate. Great balance between the new leaner style of Aussie Chard like Oakridge 864 and the traditional full bodied style like Leeuwin Art Series - both great Chards themselves. Excellent. — 8 years ago
Very nice proper Yarra pinot. Everything in its place. Red fruit dominates but there is some savoury funk and tannin to give interest and structure. Buy again — 4 years ago

Outstanding wine from a brilliant vintage. Under screw cap, fresh as a daisy. White peach, minerals and balance. Acid is perfectly integrated through the wine. This is class — 7 years ago
Very good Pinot noir. Quite peppery. Mmmm! — 8 years ago
Great structure. Built to last. Firm foundation of tannin and bite from the sweet/sour red fruit . So@much better on second day. Good for aging. — 4 years ago
Really delicious and drinkable. Had with a shrimp and bean stew. Did nicely with the smoke of paprika and acid from lemon — 4 years ago
An elegant and refined wine with more layers than an onion! — 6 years ago
Light, tangy, not particularly earthy or funky but has good balance. Smooth and easy drinking. Quite enjoyable but nothing inspiring. — 7 years ago
Mid Lemon. A nose of citrus but a palate of stone fruit. White peach and cream. Palate staining intensity with great length. Oak is totally integrated into the fruit at 9 years. Used to be regarded as Australia's premier Chardonnay and probably still is depending on your style preference. Other Margaret River icons plus Giaconda , Oakridge and Bindi amongst others in the East also vying for the mantle. World class. Halliday once compared the 1987 to a premier Cru Puligny. — 7 years ago
