An inky dark wine with a 14.9 abv to boot. Nose of Christmas spice, vanillin, eucalyptus, red licorice. Smooth but mouth drying tannins provide adequate structure to the blackberry cobbler. Very enjoyable wine. — 8 years ago
Delicious G. I never like them but wow and the price to boot. Two thumbs up. — 8 years ago
It could sit a bit longer but ever last sip was enjoyed. A dirty Pinot noir that has great earthy tones, muddy some may say with a short finish. My last bottle, will be hunting out more. — 9 years ago
Generally regarded as one of Australia's better Pinot Noirs on the basis of its perfumed nose and plummy medium bodied palate with lovely silky tannins. Could identify with @Ira Schwartz note recently of aromas of boot polish. I used to say varnish but I think we are on the same page. Great Pinot. — 9 years ago
A lot of depth, not too sweet and organic to boot. — 7 years ago
V13. Subtle and elegant. Soft boot leather nose. Round, rich blackberry and currant fruit. Pepper and leather finish. Well balanced, could use a little more depth, but very nice. Good dinner wine — 7 years ago
Love! Honeyed, mandarin peel, potpourri. Broad, rich palate, but bone dry with refreshing pithy bitterness. Such a treat to drink Muscat with age, and an excellent value to boot. — 8 years ago
This stuff is incredible for the price. Oxidative agridulce Rioja reserva on top of dense purple monastrell. '08 is current release to boot. — 8 years ago
Classic Gran Reserva. Nose is leather and oak. Complex in the mouth with leather, oak, clove, cinnamon, tobacco, fig and a hint of blue cheese. It finishes with more oak, medium acid and chewy tannins. A lovely dark, blood red color to boot. At a meal, this is the main course. Me gusta. — 9 years ago
Pours a dark, muddy maroon into the glass. The nose is dark fruit with some mushroom and funk. The entry of this wine shows more of a tobacco and fig side. A little bit sweet with almost a noticeable tannin taking hold right at the start. This one was definitely locked up but only took about 30 minutes of time to show a very intricate front. The middle of this wine is black cherry cordial, very intricate, very dark. Finished smooth, but with a sharper sweet youthful oak. Good way to start the birthday weekend. — 7 years ago
Muddy earthy, black olive black raspberry. — 7 years ago
Last bottle cork fell apart had to filter into the decanter. These 97' are truly a pleasure. Caramel light purple rim, can smell a faint aged wine with that leads into mature dark fruits. Low Alcohol with black muddy blackberries being the overall tone. Taste... wow! So nice clean, all the way through the pallet with that mild acidity. Definitely drink now as you can get a sense of the fading fruits. But overall this is a superb drink — 8 years ago
Pop and pour. Second wine of an epic Clos L'Eglise vintage. Cherries and vanilla fill your senses with a swift swirl of the glass. The wine is smooth but with enough tightness that shows the vintage and its length. The finish contains evident heat and its fruit lingers. This is a great wine for the money and for 100% merlot to boot. — 8 years ago
Nice weight and rounded. — 9 years ago
This was a nice every day wine. Local to boot! — 9 years ago
