I really enjoyed the complexity of this wine. Maybe it’s because they use 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and bottle unfiltered. Flavor profile includes blackberries, raspberry, and an earthy finish.
if you have a chance to enjoy a bottle, don’t hesitate.

Leave this open at least one hour before consuming. Rich Cabernet Sauvignon with leather and smooth tannins in the finish. Nice example of California Cabernet Sauvignon but not extraordinary. — a year ago
Bold berries up front. Dry middle. No lingering aftertaste. Great cab. — 3 years ago
Dark cherry, cigar box, leather, plum. Not overly high in tannin. Good acidity with average heat. Complex build. — 5 years ago
25 year anniversary of this wine. I have been a Peter Franus fan for a long time. This zin is medium ruby, black and white pepper, clove, cedar, red cherry, vanilla on the nose--the wood is definitely pushing through, but not overpowering. On the palate, more blue/black fruit emerges, blackberry mainly. Tannins still pretty dry, alcohol high. I think this can rest even longer but it's great now too. Awesome!!!

A wonderful smooth Zin not spicy or overly dry - nice fruit. February 2020. — 6 years ago
Bright and racy. Mountain fruit. I really like this one. — 6 months ago
Really good!
1hr+ decant. Drinking at its apex. Dark red color with purple rims. Super complex nose with too many things to list. Palate is equally complex with Napa sweetness, big tannins, and it just sticks to your mouth/tongue. Medium plus depth and finish. — 8 months ago
One of my new favorite vineyards in Napa and a great owner and wine maker! Class act and an amazing property — 6 years ago
I’m a long time fan of this fantastic wine!
A great full bodied wine with a nice finish.

Purchased at the winery on my single visit there, had gone to pick up the Syrah, and was very taken with this tiny production Mondeuse. Rich, but not heavy, rustic in some ways, but amazing “mountain fruit” depth and great acidity which largely hides the structure and tannins, long, lingering finish, needs a fair amount of cellaring, though beautiful tonight!! — 9 months ago

One of the first vineyards we visited on our first trip to Napa. This was part of a Valentine’s Day tasting they did. Partial to 2010’s because that is the year we got married, so it all worked out. Amazing wine and we can’t wait to open the older ones we are sitting on. — 5 years ago
Mmmm a cab I can get into. Heavy but not too much tannins. Very cherry. — 6 years ago

Earthy nose. Progression from cherry to raspberry to earth. Light but substantial, smooth. Very nice. — 3 months ago
