A great fortified for Christmas but best suited to the Northern Hemisphere. Mouth coating textures of Raisin, Caramel and Toffee. Best served slightly chilled in an Australian summer. Delicious. Finished another half bottle 22 weeks later on 8th July 2019 ie the middle of Winter. Previous notes apply - Liquid Raisins and milk chocolate with incredible intensity. — 7 years ago
One of the first few vintages of Bill Sweat's and Donna Morris' Pinot Noir is still drinking quite well. Softened a bit and still has some complexity and is pleasant. — 7 years ago
Labeled Old vines Muscat and it is part of the Classic bracket(6 to 10 of age wines used here) of fortified for the area
More powerful than the All Saints one I tried which was rare.
Chambers cellar door is an experience you shouldn't miss out on
They had probably 30/40 wines to taste
Bill Chambers 84yo there pretending he wouldn't know much and at the back empty bottles of La Tache, Yquem, Latour and Maurice O'Shea.
Amazing weekend in Rutherglen ✌️ — 8 years ago
Drinking great. Big wine. High alcohol. Still life in it. — 10 years ago
This was a real treat. Concentration and Intensity off the charts. Liquid raisins, toffee chocolate and fruit cake with the viscosity and consistency of engine oil. Leading Australian wine scribe James Halliday has never given 💯 points to a table wine but he gave 💯 to this fortified, as did James Suckling 💯 and Huon Hooke 98 points. The base vintages in this can go back to 100 years ( the average base sits between 20 and 40 years). Rutherglen Muscat is one of Australia’s gifts to the vinous world. — 6 years ago
Great dessert wine. Very tokaji reminiscent. A bit more burn at the end but tons of caramel. — 8 years ago
Color of burgundy with some hues of purple. Nose of fermented cabbage, berries and spice, lavender note, and the nose is plenty. Taste is on par with nose, silky and polished, zest, sweetness, fresh berries, juicy grapes. The only complaint is a bit too much bitter. Aftertaste is also mellow, with nice berry and fermented cabbage note, almost no tannins and slight too much oxidation. She is a bit over her peak. Enjoy her now with slightly cooled bottle. — 6 years ago
Domaine Coche Dury is arguably the most sought after internationally of white Burgundy domains according to Jasper Morris MW in his tome “Inside Burgundy “. This wine had aromas of Lemon and Citrus flowers. On the palate Lemon juice - lean with mineral and M plus acidity. In hindsight should have left this last one for a few years. A wine of restraint and elegance - a tinge of honey after a while. For the Coche Dury village style only 25% new wood is used. This wine rarity was suggested to me years ago by a former owner of Prince Wine store and Burgundy nut Phillip Rich. Must seek out later vintages. — 7 years ago
Not a Pinot Noir for the newbie. More Burgundy, less California with a bouquet of tarragon, cedar, mint, redwood, black cherries, blood orange peel, green olive, sea spray, and smoked game meats. Intense, complex and a real joy for a lover of earthy, terroir-driven Pinots with a character. — 7 years ago
Blackberries and cherries, soft tannins and velvety texture. A touch of tar and tobacco come through on the finish. An approachable wine that is ideal with a late night burger following A Night At The Opera (with terrific Mark Morris choreography accompanying Purcell and Britten). — 8 years ago
Complex rich with taste of dark cherries — 9 years ago

One of the oldest wines I have had the pleasure of tasting! I don’t usually look for Madeira’s but what a treat from sommelier David Morris at Cut NYC! So much power for a wine made before WW1. Great nose, very tangy, and rich. — 6 years ago
