Monty welcoming — 7 years ago

1982. Label has as many age spots as I do, but it’s inside that counts! Mature, but if I may quote Monty Python, “I’m not dead yet!” Not that I’d want to hold on to it much longer, every sip was cerebral and sensual. — 8 years ago
A Sicilian (orange) white that's completely different, and not in the Monty Python sense...as if we needed more evidence of @giustoocchipinti genius, dry, floral, dried apple, stark minerality. You can taste the clay amphorae in which these were made. Best ever match for sashimi. — 9 years ago
Monty came in clutch with this grad gift. Plus the glass cork stopper. Did he get it from Liberty? — 10 years ago
2014 fresh as a daisy Monty. Great structure and fruit depth. Bright and easy to drink but possesses so much interest. Gorgeous — 10 years ago
Very good zin but not Monty Rafanelli 😅 — 6 years ago
2010 the closest I can get to Sangantino in NZ I had been listening to Monty Warden’s Italian Wine Podcast rave about Montefalco it very gives the Sangiovese a stern backbone rich crimson some oak on the nose cherries and tart rhubarb. The perils of being at the bottom of the Pacific is some wines are not available, mind you the great kiwi and Aussie wines make up for some of the loss. — 8 years ago
Didn't bring a red as we weren't planning on drink more than a btl, and that Leroy Monty did the trick, but our palates got hungry for some red, so looked at the half btl list(needed to drive back to SF) and chose this, great vintage and a solid producer. This is in a beautiful place right now, plenty of room for improvement, but complemented dinner just right. — 9 years ago
Drinks like a younger version, which means this can age for a lot longer.
On the nose, bell pepper, red fruit, black fruit (both still very ripe), tobacco leaf, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, vanilla.
The palate is more of the nose plus finely integrated tannins that leave a smooth finish.
I am biased towards Freemark Abbey. I do not care. Full monty. — 10 years ago
Chianti Monty wiiinnggz 🤓 — 6 years ago
Annual Christmas tradition of fried chicken and chass monty- in a non stellar year Philippe Colin really brings it strong with super creamy richness, great luscious fruit and acidity cutting cleanly through. Really great QPR (at the time) - wish I had more. — 7 years ago
Tasted blind. Light gold color. Subdued nose. Notes of light citrus and wet rocks. Rich and round. Developed some fine grained acidity with air. But overall this was disappointing compared to other bottles of this we've had, and tonight against the Niellon Chevy and the Morey Monty. I wonder if this had too much air tonight. — 8 years ago
Very good. Bottle 2 from Boston. Nice blend. Glad it made it back safe. Monty! Air BnB week, flight back corkscrewed the revenue — 9 years ago
Earthy funk that gave way to supple leather and tar. — 10 years ago

Excellent. Medium body. Plenty bright but a bit thin on fruit. — 6 years ago
