Big central coast GSM & V. Blackberry alcohol/fruit bomb. Not a lot of tannins but delicious after a long drive to Santa Barbara wine country. — 8 years ago
A nice light bodied, easy drinking red blend, low acidity, peppery at first with a long finish of blackberry jam. — 10 years ago
Wow. More flavor, much better than their regular cab. Silky, velvet, smooth. Chocolate. Rich fruit. Big, full flavor, lots of flavor. Not old world style for sure, not subtle. It's a big bomb. We would pay up to $75 for this so a bit overpriced to us.

Bing bang bomb! Loved it. Opens up like crazy in the glass. — 10 years ago

Phenomenal way to not only watch the ‘Stros lay on the heat to the Yankees, but also to usher in a 9 day Vacation! The Four Seasons always delivers top tier wining & dining. I certainly wouldn’t mind staying here throughout all four seasons... — 9 years ago

Beyond description. The 04 vintage is where it's at. Sure, 2005 was massive but so was the fruit. It was short lived in terms of aging. 2004 allowed for character and depth and flavor of fig, bright red fruit and spice. This wine has another half decade or more before it really comes alive. Honestly, it blew my mind. — 10 years ago
Was apprehensive at first as last time I had this (a year ago with Big Wave Dave) it was the cliche Oz Shiraz fruit bomb with high alcohol bordering on over extraction. On the second outing a lot more complex. Still classic cassis fruit and choc/tobacco overtones but not over the top and with some nice acidity still. Less spice than typical. Nice underlying tannin backbone. Lovely mouthfeel and medium body and finish. A little time has done its work nicely. — 10 years ago

Okay here we go -- my Christmas wine. Had it with medium rare filet mignon and grilled lobster tail.
Had the same bottle a few years back and it was missing something. Maybe it wasn't decanted long enough? (Although I had the resto at the time decant as soon as I entered) either way, I decanted this bad boy for over an hour and boy did it open up --
It starts off nice and round but shows off its depth with layers of flavors and structure with each second it lingers in your mouth. Dark fruits but not overbearing or jammy. Luscious tannins that balance out with a nice bit of minerality.
Okay enough is enough - this wine was the fucking bomb. Turns out #OpusOne knows what it's doing. :-)

Ok. The bomb dot com. So good. Could stay for another ten but so privileged to have with my steak. — 8 years ago
Mind blowing experience. Thank you, Giuseppe, for introducing me to this wonderful Barbaresco. — 8 years ago
7/3/17 - had as part of a flight at eight 11. Very interesting taste but grew on me. — 9 years ago
Just a juicy bomb that's easy to drink with a hint of spice at the finish. — 10 years ago
Spectacular! Mind blowing. One of my top 10 of all time. On every serious wine lover’s bucket list, and here we had a nigh perfect bottle. While aromatically a little recalcitrant, you still got some of the Margaux violets and potpourri on the nose, hints of clove, all trying to shake off their doldrums. But on the palate, it was timelessly ravishing. The finesse, richness, balance and smoothness, with an underlying, almost flabbergasting mixture of complexity and delicacy, was just astonishing. The finish is marvelously sweet and intense, with chocolate and cassis and utterly seamless tannins. This is a miracle of wine making and an exaltation of vintage and terroir besides. Wow! And bravo! We can only pray for an encore of such a wine. — 10 years ago

Just tasted this blind in Somm class. I really enjoyed it and was somewhat surprised by that fact. Not as much of a fruit bomb as I would have expected. Selling Cali wines all day has jaded this East Coast kid. — 7 years ago
