THE wine to express what a beautiful California "Butter-Chardonnay" is. There is no other wine like it and there is no such thing as a "baby Rombauer". The 2013 is true to their gold standard wine.

Welcome to my review. Today we are drinking a chardonnay by Rombauer. I am used to drinking their cabs but not their chards. The boquet is greatfruit and pears. The initial palate is wonderful. Smooth creamy butter and beautiful crisp green apple finish. I can almost taste the grape in this wine... It does not have that traditional sharp Chard tongue squeezing chard finish. Very mild! Very good cold and served atbthe dock on a sunny hot day. I twist on your regular chardonnay.

No Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater to see here, folks. Caramelized apple w/ crumble topping, poached pear, sweet Meyer lemon, Creme anglaise, and dare I say a little fresh linen/mineral on the nose? Palate is creamy but with a medley of fruit, buttered, grilled pineapple, Key lime pie, and bruleed sugar. High alcohol always off-putting in these chards as is the RS, but otherwise this is actually pretty tasty and well-made for the style. Cougarin out. I'm sure all my somm friends will judge--oh well!

Addendum: okay started to get more buttery as it warmed up. Heavy on the finish.

Creamy texture and buttery flavor went perfectly with smoked salmon.

Exactly what it's supposed to be. Classic Californian buttery Chardonnay. You have to appreciate their consistency.

Sometimes the butter bomb is required. Caramel, butterscotch.
