Brut Methode Champenoise California Sparkling White Blend

Refreshing and elegant, bone dry, great acidity, fine mousse. Don’t drink too cold, as it opened up in the glass. Excellent value for the price. My new house wine! — 3 years ago

Vista Verde Vineyard Chenin Blanc 2018

Crisp nose of unripe pear, honey and lime on the nose. Baked honey crisp apple, white flower, slight petrol on the palate. Lovely minerality and sense of terroir in this wine. — 4 years ago

Gringet! Love this nose. Hay, herbal, alpine, feral, piney, so different and invigorating. Superb alpine air minerality. Great purity and such clean mousse. Lovely sap and extract with terrific persistence on the finish. Very pure and very clean. Such a unique and delicious wine. Not much fruit which is a very good thing. — 4 years ago

Cuvée Sauvage Napa Valley Chardonnay 2013

Ming L
9.2

With wild yeast fermentation (hence the name cuvée sauvage) and 16 months in French barrel, a rich and plush chard was to be expected. Ripe pear, lime, apple pie, chrysanthemum tea, and touch of roasted almond. Soft creamy palate with vivid acidity. Oak is very well integrated, and by no means it’s oaky. A bit heat at the end, but overall complex and well balanced.
As with the winery’s Napa cab, they don’t make this bottling anymore. A pity.

Louis Pommery Brut Methode Champenoise

Another (few days belated) write up of previously taken notes. This one was quite unique—a thing with beeriness and salinity but smoothness—there is flavor galore notes here—candied orange and pomegranate but my enjoyment of it is so texture based. Just super cool and a bit off the beaten path. — 4 years ago

Sauvage Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Premium label. Single plot of 100% chalk. Organic. Very well balanced on the nose and palate. Like the basic bottling but more of everything. Good fruit intensity with enough mineral and citrus to give harmony. More complex, rounder, and bigger than others. Very good. Super well balanced.

Santo Wines

Brut Methode Traditionnelle Santorini Assyrtiko

A featherweight sparkling Assyrtiko made in the Champagne method. A fine mousse with a slight leesy character - it tastes of sea foam, almond dust and white rose petal. Clean, fresh and very easy to drink. 100% Assyrtiko, Santo is the first Santorini producer to craft a sparkling rendition of this grape variety. — 6 years ago
