1hr+ decant and needed every bit of it. Fruit forward nose with lots of Pinot elements. Wine was refined and silky, with more tannins than expected. Cherry fruit mixed with meat and a touch of spice. Not what I was expecting from this, but very nice. — 6 years ago

This is why I love Northern Rhone Syrah, this is bonkers good and so young but showing very well. As good as it is now I see it getting even better in 7-10+ years as time chips away and starts to impart more space in the layers.of complexity that ring this wines personality.

Dark red currants, blackberry, mother rock granite, piquant meat, smoke, and charcoal embers. Perfect structure, ripe and firm tannin and great acidity. Ferral, wild and unhinged this is what drinking great wine is all about!

Love the folks at Stolpman and the wine they produce. True terroir focused approach when it comes to the wine making. Deep purple hues in the glass with hint of gamey meat and roses on the nose. On the palate exhibited citrus, tobacco and incenses. Nice QPR. — 10 years ago

Dude.. New world nose, black fruit, peony, vanilla, slight black pepper. Palate is a different story.. Speaks of place. Has the fruit from the nose bust also a wet rock and savory meat character. A little hot on the nose and palate but still freaking delicious. Nose carries through with red fruit compote, licorice whips, leather, balsam, lavender, roasted herbs, moss, funk, and meat. Palate plays more on compote, licorice, and balsam with kicks of spice and leather. There's that savoriness coming through on the palate as well. Despite some alc. poking out this is really beginning to show well. Expecting more organic earth, black tea, and umami notes in the future but still a brilliant perfume right now. Tannin still has a little edge that keeps the wine balanced. Humbled to try wines like this when I can. 375 ml — 10 years ago
