Tasted blind. By now we’re starting to get a bit polluted from all the previous wines. This is dark tawny in color with great fruit, black cherry, spice, dark earth and some wood. Comes across as young and not yielding much. With air the wine gets more rich and the texture of the juice is amazing. This explodes with power, fruit and an amazing finish. Nobody guessed Syrah or Rhone. I threw out an 82 Mouton guess. Sometimes a guess is rated as “at least you got the country right”… We were all impressed with how good this was. It was the WOTD for many.

Outstanding, only needed 32 years to be this amazing, pity we can rarely wait that long, so perfumed & expressive, great structure also, magical wine.

Deep ruby. Full blown Syrah nose, blackberry, leather, spice and meat. Still brawny on the palate, with all the same notes, but with a great balance. Very very long finish.
