From the very beginning, the 2015 Canon has made an eloquent case for itself as one of the wines of the vintage. Multiple tastings from bottle only confirm what several early tastings hinted at: the 2015 Canon is simply extraordinary in every way. Sumptuous and exotic, with no hard edges and exceptional balance, the 2015 grabs hold of all the senses and never lets up. A rush of red fruit intermingled with floral notes, spice and smoke notes effortlessly runs up the wine's vertical structure as the 2015 thrills with every twist and turn. The 2015 Canon is a rare wine that is both hedonistic and intellectual - well, maybe it is a bit more hedonistic-leaning. It doesn't matter. Don't miss it. This 2015 is masterpiece from General Manager Nicolas Auderbert and his team at Canon. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2018)

Pure pleasure, the palomino fino balancing out the sweet PX and adding layers of complexity. Really a masterpiece of the blender's art. Pedro Ximenez on the nose, brown sugar and a most appealing dry salinity with additional notes of molasses and spices on the palate. — 8 years ago

Wild blackberries, licorice, and black currant. A classic, textbook California cabaret from the SC mountains. Even at 4 years old, it was surprisingly smooth after 30 minutes of decanting. A long, structured finish and a nose that permeated the table 18 inches away. A total masterpiece! — 9 years ago

An exercise in precision - fruit, lees, minuscule bubbles and time all come together in this masterpiece. — 9 years ago
al, overlooked because of its tannic youth and its proximity to the improbable masterpiece the ’47 became. On the nose you have violets and strawberries, an attractive leafy spiciness, and very evident Cabernet Franc. Sweet red berries on the palate opening, sage, rosemary and spices, some cloves, harmonious acids, just such an alluring, precise wine, game and sweet notes past the mid palate, a beautiful floral, lingering finish. There is nothing excessive about this wine, a graceful yet still alluring, fleshy texture pervade this beauty. Simply brilliant! — 9 years ago
