Beautiful, expansive and waxy nose. Beautiful aromas. Nutty but also vibrant and mineral. Palate is focused like a laser. Wonderful complexity already with gorgeous delineation and oh so much minerality. Just popped and a little bit out of sorts but I fully expect it to fill out. Terrific value. Wow. Don’t know how this one escaped my attention for so long, but I get why it’s so well loved. Ridiculous QPR. At the risk of both revealing my ignorance and offending everyone, I reckon this is the drink Stanley Dry White cask (a seminal drop in my existence, and fellow Australian cheapo icon) aspires to be. Deep, rich and enveloped within a delicate creaminess here is a Northern Rhône white that deserves its praise. The fruit is soft and doesn’t overlay the mineral component. I really like this one. — 8 years ago
