One of select few great zins in Sonoma — 7 years ago
Full-on Napa strip tease, with all the assets on show. Jam compote, coffee and maple syrup. So extravagant, it’s obscene. As @Carl Fischer described it, “an embarrassment of riches.”
Gifted by @Carl Fischer. Thank you kind sir. — 8 years ago

A superb wine that is youthful and requires more age. Tannins are aggressive, but in time, will be perfect. Lovely overripe black fruits and maple syrup. — 9 years ago
Unusual Merlot Syrah blend. Best part in my view are the oak traits which show themselves in a long, bold finish of maple syrup and vanilla. Great way to follow up a front and mid palate of tart red fruit. Pair this with rare steak and it's a knockout. — 9 years ago

2019 edition. A little thin compared to prior years. Might be due to the relatively weak/disappointing 2019 KBS base. Nevertheless, the bourbon and maple syrup are both present and water nice. The alcohol is well balanced, it doesn't feel hot at all like other imperial stouts. — 6 years ago
Fantastic Zin, alspicey goodness with some heat — 7 years ago

Always my favorite of the varietals. The depth and complexity of flavors astounding. Super maple, carmel toast aromas. — 8 years ago
This wine is READY. So good. Smells like Carmel and maple syrup. I'm really enjoying this one. — 9 years ago
Molasses, burnt caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, toffee nuts, orange peel, dried apricots, marmalade, buttered toast, burnt brandied caramel and dried stone fruits. It's big, rich, high alcohol, thick, sweet and elegant. Good but certainly not their Scion but then again nothing else is. @Jory — 9 years ago
Nose is exotic, with sweet oak and ripe cherries. Palette is textured and multidimensional. Tannins still provide a nice upright structure, but are resolved. Finishes with a panoply of rich dark fruits, tobacco, maple syrup and nutmeg. I think 08 in Cali was nothing special, but the Rudius winemaker continues to pull off some splendid acrobatics.
If you have this in your cellar, don't leave it too much longer. — 9 years ago
Toffee and maple aromas stand out in this Colheita. Flavours of biscuit and toasted pecan emerge thereafter. The finish is vaguely like vanilla. — 6 years ago
Yum yum yum cinnamon and chocolate — 7 years ago
Surprisingly complex and nuanced. There is an undeniable floral component to this wine that is quite atypical for Zinfandel. Mineral-laced, spicy, elegant and simply delicious. Aside from a hint of blueberry jam this is in no way your typical Dry Creek Zinfandel. Weight and texture are beautiful. Loving the lavender and violets. Easily the best wine I’ve had from Maple Vineyard. This is Zin! — 8 years ago
Sticky, yellow raisins, maple syrup, no bite, maple syrup and half lemon/half lime, nice phenols and butterscotch, what a nice dessert wine — 9 years ago
There's some serious yum going on in this bottle!
Dark fruit, a little bite and then smoooooth as it goes down... — 9 years ago

Delicious! Thin maple syrup, plums; but also some acidity. Great VFM! — 6 years ago
