Really good. — 6 years ago
Dates back to the Crusades & Scottish navigator, George Smith, owner in 18th century, followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, then Louis Eschenauer, wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel & Florence Cathiard now own estate. A blend of 55% Cab Sauv, 40% Merlot, 4% Cab Franc, & 1% Petit Verdot. Dark red with dark berry fruit aromas, cedar and sweet spice. On the palate rich & complex ripe black fruit flavors, oak & cacao. Firm rich tannins, full, lingering, perfect balance. L-T aging. — 7 years ago

Dark fruit, cherries, anise, and tobacco on the nose. Very dry wine. Dried fig, vanilla, more dark fruits, more cherry, and chocolate. Long finish of leather and oak. Drink now. Decant for an hour. — 5 years ago
This was our second bottle. First was uninspiring and despite the 97pt RP rating, found it to be disappointing. The trick is to let it breathe for at least an hour to let the flavors develop. It is no Opus One but very satisfying with a juicy steak or just plain enjoyment! — 8 years ago
Visual: opaco y algo turbio por los sedimentos. Color profundo.
Nariz: potente, blackberry (mora), cereza, madura. Composta, zetas, cuero, barnyard.
Boca: buen balance, taninos M ya refinados, acidez M, alcohol M+.
Me parece que ya debe tomarse puede estar pasando su pico.

Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
Rich deep red color, nice fruity flavors, tast proty dry wine. — 2 years ago
This is misidentified as Pinot noir as the back label lists about 5 other varieties. Then again the back label is generic enough that it seems they put them on all their bottles back then. No vintage noted but is an early 60’s bottling. Still bright with loads of red fruit. What I seem to detect is a slight VA but others with more experience with older vintages says that it was on point. I’m good on the palate just not the aromatics. For a 50yr old wine I’m good with it. — 3 years ago

5th wine of the 1987 flight. Drinking great still! Great fruit and structure after all these years! — 8 years ago
When it was opened the nose was shy, 30 minutes later it opened up to a smooth and elegant wine with fruit and soft tannins. Solid and good drinking. Cork was in great shape!! 56 year old wine that has held up beautifully.🍷🍷 — 8 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of berry fruits, slight floral and smoky spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cedar, vanilla and herb floral notes. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, cacao, smoky oak and herb character. Nice!! Aging and drinking well! — 9 months ago
