Enjoying a glass of Dr Loosen Blue Slate at sunset in the Polish Mountains after a good day of hiking. This doesn’t get any better..
The nose is a bit shy but shows citrusy touches, a bit of chalk, fresh white grape juice, white peach, white flowers. The palate is super fresh and precise despite some residual sugar. There are citrusy beams shining through and through, some grip in the rear, some lemon peel and a great, fresh finish that lasts for a while. It’s simple yet perfectly executed. A perfect sip to top up a great and active day. Life is good. — 18 days ago

The nose was a bit closed at first but is now opening up with chalk and lovely lemon curd and lemon zest notes as the wine slowly warms up in the glass. There is also a light floral touch too along with some fresh white grape.
This is very inviting. The palate is superb with a superlative acid backbone, some delicious lemon curd and zesty notes all along, some chalky mouthfeel that changes in the rear with a bit of grip, before a long, fresh and tangy finish with lemon curd and that zesty twist that makes you reach for the bottle for a second glass right after the first one. This is unmistakably a German Riesling Kabinett, and a great example at that!
Edit : now that the wine has warmed up in the glass, notes of fresh white peach and roasted pineapple with honey are popping up in the nose. Delicious! — 6 months ago

Sweet entry, orange, and citrus marmalade flavors. Bright acidity. Ends without leaving too much of a sweet aftertaste.

2023 Dr. Loosen Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel. On the nose honey, and tropical fruit: guava papaya, hint of spice; almost white pepper; tangerine, jasmine. On the palate, good concentration; honey more beautifully ripe mango (almost like a creamy mango lassi), tangerine, very nice apricots; slate minerality; a spine of acidity balances all the ripe fruit. The fruit quality shines here so I don’t feel bad drinking this young. — 7 months ago
