This wine is dark in the glass, with light barely getting through. The nose is dark as well, and when I sniffed it I got a blast of Cassis. The black currant and black berry aromas are forceful and a bit funky. Earth, tar, and cigars also play into the profile. The palate keeps the darkness rolling. The black fruit and forest floor are as brooding as one could wish. And the tannins …they are alive and well. Big acidity adds to the tingling mouthfeel. I’ve seen other reviewers say that this wine is not everyone’s cup, but those who shy away from it must not enjoy an adventure, because that’s what this wine is. — 7 months ago

Blend of Regent and Cabernet Cortis, 2 hybrid varietals.
This is a funny one. The winery is based in the city center of Warsaw but their plot is located on the slopes of Kazimierz Dolny, a medieval city 70 miles south of Warsaw, on the side of the Wisła River which flows through Warsaw. On the label you can see a contemporary art rendition of the famous warsaw mermaid, which is the symbol of the city. Statues of the mermaid can be found in several iconic locations of the city and are shown on every bus, tram and taxi driving around. It's a staple of Warsaw and seeing it on the label of this bottle tells the story of this wine being intricately connected with Warsaw and its rich culture and history.
The nose is very Cabernet-adjacent with notes of cherry, bell pepper, black pepper and a bramble thing too. The palate is well made, with good acid drive, nice cherry and bramble berry notes, good width and rather powerful, drying tannins in the rear. They leave a drying layer over the finish that go well with the cherry and bramble berry notes and carry on for a good while. Some bitter notes and green notes pop up in the rear. It's a serious wine, with structure, a bit austere as it is currently, but which will certainly cruise in the cellar for a while, and eventually open up and shine with its lovely black fruit notes. Serious, austere, built for lasting but also fun and full of hope: a bit like the city it was born in. 👌 — 2 months ago
