Incredible as always — 8 months ago
Nice balance of acidity and fruit for a 16 year old wine. 2010. In fact it’s pretty fantastic. A bit of stewed apricots d hints of green apple. The tertiary elements are charming as heck. Go team! — a year ago

Blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, deep Ruby color with aromas of red and black fruits with toasty spice. On the palate flavors of black raspberry, currants and black cherry with licorice, toasty oak and tobacco. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and earthy tobacco spice. Drinking well now! — 4 months ago
Decanted this for an hour and a half and reserved a glass in the bottle for the second day. These notes are based on the second day, as the flavors seemed to shine through a bit more. On the nose, aromas of blackberry and leather, although had to do quite a bit of swirling to get the aromas to come through. On the palate, beautifully deep flavors of blackberry and black currant coming through, with hints of graphite and cocoa in the background. Tannins seems pretty well integrated with good acidity, although definitely some grip on the finish. Cocoa seems to come through a bit more on the finish as well. Overall really tasty, but seems to be closing down a bit for sure. I have one more bottle, so looking forward to seeing how this tastes in 5-10 years time. — 6 months ago
Exceptional Sonoma cab. Big, dark, soft and lush. Jammy in texture, dark cherry finish — 7 months ago
Good, but not my favorite. Very different from the Ruinart we had before. Much darker in color and significantly more tannins. — 10 months ago
Top ! — 5 years ago
Velvety red fruits, vanilla, rubber industrial tubing, cracked pepper and wet forest floor permeate the nose, with a slight malo character that pervades, along with an overall floral element that wafts throughout. You can tell the pedigree with this. Deep red/purple coloration on a medium to full body, and even though this in young, the acidity seems well aligned, with tannins perfectly integrated, dry, but not austere. Palate is rich and refined, with prominent red fruits, not overly jammy or fleshy, but silky plums, black cherries, granite or graphite, with pencil shavings, slight balsamic characteristics, and a loooong lingering dry palate that lingers for quite some time. Really impressive for a wine so young! — 3 months ago

Medium lemon yellow , some development . On the nose this is still quite fresh , with some yellow fruits , white peach, white flowers, red apple , creamy lemon curd . On the palate this is quite rounded with touch of smoky lemon curd, lightly buttery and white peach . Balanced acidity , but not the brightest , and ok length , quite rounded but balanced . Good now and over the next few years . Impressive for a basic Bourgogne Blanc , especially from 2011. — 7 months ago
A bit tired but still happy to have a taste. On the savory side. — 8 months ago

The very pleasant nose did not translate to taste in the way expected of this maker. Twenty years later, I believe this wine is still evolving, requiring more patience. The old adage about Burgundy applies - you are going to kiss some frogs before they become prince. Having said that, a long decant was useful. — 3 months ago
