Great! Bonnie Brae liquor — 3 years ago
2000 Vega Sicilia Unico. Dinner at Fife in Brae. Gorgeous. Black/dark fruit, roses and tar, dill. Decanted about 45 min before serving. Only kept getting better. — 6 years ago
Another dry Riesling from down under, why not?
This is lovely. Right up my alley.
Lemon, lemon zest, flowery scents, some petroly touches too. Textbook Riesling nose. The palate is acid driven, as expected, with lemony and lemon curd notes all along, some good width and a massive grip in the rear. The finish is long, lemony and zesty and goes on for a super long while, leaving a tangy aftertaste that lingers for a moment. Great stuff. Different take than the 2 hands effort I tasted some time ago, unoaked, but very good example of the varietal. Thumbs up again! — a year ago
Previous notes apply. More cassis than the recently tasted 2008 Lenton Brae (nearby vineyard) and overall a slightly better wine. An amazingly good 2nd wine from Woodlands from an excellent vintage. This is predicted to be drinking well towards the end of this decade and as I have 5 left I will have one every 18 months from now on if I have the patience! I ended up having the next one 50 weeks later on 31st October 2021. Definitely more herbal and brambley characters than cassis and black currant. Just medium weight 91 points. I think drink the remaining bottles in the next few years. — 4 years ago
A white blend that does very well in Margaret River and this is a fine unoaked example. Lenton Brae also have an oaked White Bordeaux style called “Wilyabrup” which can be cellared longer. Grassy with some passion fruit notes. This is delicious and refreshing - an excellent Summer white. Also great value at only $24. — 6 years ago
Great full body wine. Packs the kick of cab. Spicy and not too sweet. Good finish in back of mouth. Buy again. Bought at Bonnie Brae, Xander rec. — 3 years ago
Smooth, light but not too light, has some good flavor. Good tannins. Not much oak, but doesn’t taste like water. Got at Bonnie Brae. — 6 years ago
Great white wine. Smooth, but not lacking. Some hints of oak and white stone fruit. Medium acidity. Good minerality making it crisp and not buttery. would buy again. Bought at Bonnie brae — 6 years ago

See previous notes from the 2008 and 2009 vintages. Initial toasty oak notes - a surprise after 14 years but still good. Not the usual Margaret River herbaceousness. 2011 was a disastrous vintage throughout Australia with the exception of the extremities - Margaret River and the Hunter Valley. An easy to drink Wilyabrup Cabernet - punches above its purchase price of $55. — 6 days ago
