Always treat yourself to a good birthday wine from your rack!
A huge nose of raisin and prune, as to be expected with both an aged wine, and one of this method.
Huge body, with hints of mint, touches of older, dried herbs. The fruit in this is dark cherry, roast peach, olive oil.
Totally worth aging these. Yum!
Light, gritty tannin all the way through, with the perfect pitch of acidity to counteract the fruit. — 7 years ago

Young and still a little tight but lots of kirsch, slate and stone fruit. With some raisin and vanilla. Very nice. — 7 years ago

Excellent balance of acid and sweetness; notes of hazelnut, raisin, toffee and a touch of cocoa — 8 years ago
Taylor's is now into its 4th century & one of the oldest Port houses. It is the last totally independent company of the original British Port houses, still family owned and managed. Aged for 10 years in oak casks. Amber color with aromas of sweet dried fruits and nutty notes. On the palate sweet ripe fruit in a nutty oak wrapper, some vanilla and ending with a raisin aftertaste. Smooth, Nice value. — 9 years ago
Nice raisin, with a cherry acid finish. — 6 years ago
Strawberry vinegar on the nose, tastes like strawberry-rose lemonade~ packs a punch with bracing acidity~ changed over time (5 months): first tasted like vinegar, now it juicy!!! — 7 years ago
Spotted this at a wine store sitting right next to the 2016 vintage for the same price. Bought it without hesitation not knowing much about the producer. Am I glad I did!
Earthy, smoky, spicy, with hint of raisin and vanilla. Fruit has faded a bit but acidity is still very vibrant. Powerful entry but finishes off with gentle smooth tannins. Nice.
The bottle is very heavy - probably the heaviest 750ml bottle I’ve ever had. — 7 years ago
Tar, raisin, soaked fig, cherry pit, wilted violet, hung meat, boudin noir, leather, cinnamon, cocoa powder, honey, truffle, scorched earth, roasted herbs, camphor, black tea. Wears the vintage well. More moderate frame (relatively speaking) showing some consistent grip throughout, surprised by the acid support this has, makes for a plausible argument about whether or not to continue aging. So tertiary and savory right now. — 6 years ago
Yum. Went well with pizza. Light body with a little funk and a little mineral like fiz. Drank slightly chilled. — 7 years ago
The nose is enticing dark fruit and oak. Grippy tannins on the palate with tobacco, prune, oak, leather, and raisin notes that explode through mid-palate. The finish thrusts forward with acid in spades. This wine is a steamroller. — 7 years ago

📝 I say Musar is always better with 15-25 years age but this 8 year baby is quite gluggable

Raisin and plum fruit forward nose with flinty finish. Light mouth feel, but long lingering finish like you are sliding into a bubble bath. Because you should be drinking this wine. — 8 years ago
Delicious wine for special occasions. Dark fruit with leathery end, lingering finish, strong but well integrated tannins. Very smooth, tastes like a crisp late-fall day. BlackBerry, boisenberry, raisin, and leather. — 8 years ago
Experienced the smooth result of no acid, dark in color, very smooth, it's light in mouth feel and the after taste is a raisin like blackberry — 9 years ago

Opened for a fancy celebratory dinner to accompany filet mignon & risotto. Held up to the robust food. Quite complex, lots of raisin and dark fruit. Worth the money if you’re looking to treat yo self. — 6 years ago
