Very good bottle of wine for the $$. — 6 years ago
“ A bird, a mushroom, and a berry, all native to Oregon. A limited production from Heritage vines, this cuvée is composed of 20 barrels. Vinified traditionally, the song, the savor and in the sweetness of the blackcap are manifest here, in a Pinot Noir that embodies its origins.” Jason Lett. — 7 years ago
A truly amazing tasting hosted by non other than Rob Greer!!! We loved hearing the history of his vineyard and his transition from making what he called “Fun” wine to making “Fine Wine”. If he was shooting for simply fine he completely missed his Mark. This one was absolutely unequivocably Superb!!!!! Wow., his 14 was balanced., balanced, balanced. Seamless integration and a touch of oak which doesn’t over power the wine. This was Badass in a Glass for sure!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Greer wines by Howard Greenfield a few years ago. I’ve never looked back and say YES SIR to my entire allocation on a yearly basis. If you haven’t had Greer YOU MUST contact Rob and pick up a 3 pack. Believe me.,you won’t regret it!!! It will do you proud when you pour it for your family and friends🙌🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🙌. @Howard Greenfield @Jason Chang @Kirk Alexander @Dov Eidelman @Tania Rodriguez — 7 years ago

I’ve started seeing quite a bit of this winery on Delectable as of late, and @Jason Oliver does a great job of being an ambassador for them. He informed me of a killer deal they had going, so I snagged a 3-pack.
Robbie Meyer (of Del Dotto, Pierson Meyer) became the full time winemaker in 2015. The Spur is their red blend and really is an awesome value for Livermore Valley. Bordeaux varietals + petite sirah. Super dark in the glass. Nose is full of herbs, crushed blackberries, graphite. I thought it would be super heavy on the palate due to the color, but it was soft. Easy to pick up the petite sirah in this with the spice and pepper on the finish. Tart and spicy fruit too like rhubarb. Smokiness and cedar wood. Looking forward to the merlot and Malbec I have. — 8 years ago

11' Nine Suns wasn't released to the public? What a shame. Just an amazing bottle of 2011. @Jason Chang @@Martin G Rivard — 9 years ago

Smelled liked a Merlot, but shocked me with its flavor. Sweet and dry at the same time with a lovely full mouth feel and complex flavor. — 6 years ago
My 700th wine! Recommended to me by @Jason Oliver, he was spot on!
This wonderfully toes the line between Californian and Australian styles. There is the heft and bramble berry but also the olive bacon fat. A great wine indeed! — 7 years ago

Easy drink with good flavors — 8 years ago
This wine is so good, it should not be overlooked. Apparently, Kistler (Jason Kesner) produces this wine for restaurants. But that doesn’t mean us mere mortals can’t enjoy it at home. Some would consider this a mass-market proposition, but it’s anything but that. It possesses a transparency of an individual story, which is easy to read. There are no missing pages or chapters. This wine is well structured and prismatic in terms of its complexity, layers and minerality. Butterscotch, honey and calcium pierce the taste buds, and at a price I consider to be reasonable for such an outstanding product. Check out Kistler’s website. They hide nothing. It screams about very considered wine-making at its very best. Consider this for short-term cellaring only. — 3 years ago

No way I would have ever guessed this was a 99. Would have thought 06...maybe. It is showing a little bit of age, as I guess you would expect. But this bottle has aged very well. At 20 years old, this wine curveball of the night pulled by Jason! One of my favorites of the night. The entry of this wine definitely shows a hint of age, but only a hint. Lots of blackberry, hint of blueberry, cassis, dark baking chocolate. Little bit of graphite, still with nice tannin on the finish which has started to soften and integrate. A lovely wine. — 7 years ago

@Jason MacLean sure has some good wines lying around. — 8 years ago

It's with great joy and sadness I open up this last bottle from the case. It seems almost wrong to be finishing up a case of 2013 already, but it's just so good!
The good news is the that reviews from Jason Oliver have convinced me to sign on to the Hunnicutt club. First case gets here in November! 🍷 cheers Mr Oliver. — 8 years ago
