Hints of balsamic reduction and tea leaves on the nose. Beautiful crimson red in the glass from middle to rim with faint brown edges. Medium tannins and acidity. Black tea, espresso grounds, unripened plum skins and a tomato jam component on the finish. Oak is moderate and well integrated. Tannins hang in there through the finish. Paired with meatloaf...whatever bro. Eat what you got, when you can, when you work in retail. — 8 years ago
The 2006 Rusty Shed Chardonnay is a blend of four blocks of Chardonnay on the Flat Rock Property. Grapes are hand picked and hand sorted before whole bunch pressing takes place. It was then cold settled in stainless steel, 100% barrel fermented and left on the lees for 10 months. Wild and commercial yeasts were used for primary fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the natural acidity. The result?
Beautiful example of a mid to full bodied Chardonnay with butter, vanilla, apples and light spice on the palate. A lot of flavour and elegance at this price point. Sampled this 2006 in 2017 but this should sit well and perhaps develop more for a few more years. Best part? It's from Niagara! Loved it!

Pleasant floral aroma, tastes like tannic berry jam. I love the label art! — 9 years ago
Nose had some strawberry jam, hints of mild spice like nutmeg cardamon some cinnamon. Muted red fruit which blossoms a bit as it sits in the glass finish ends with slight minerality with a little tannin. Delicious aged 1998 Cornas Syrah. — 9 years ago

Plum, blueberry, blackberry jam, blood orange, cassis, graphite, dried flowers, clove, white pepper. — 6 years ago
A bit bigger with more ripe strawberry jam taste than other gamay. But as it opens up, floral and mineral notes come in to balance. Nose is wonderful and earthy. I really enjoyed this. — 6 years ago
Super wet and fruit forward, jammy, boysenberry, smells of hibiscus and cinnamon ginger cookies (slightly), slight sweet tobacco, lots of body and subtle jam, not too structured, fair intricate with the jam highlight, nice sort of see through color — 7 years ago
Very nice wet subtle, less jam than other ridge zin blends, rich red color, the layering is really great, rustic, super balanced, just jam with all types of berries mostly raspberry and strawberry — 8 years ago
Great fruit forward. Blackberry jam, compote, slight oak and high sugar. — 8 years ago
Wow this 11 is up there with 09 for me @ £120 & less subtle than 10 & 13 - my kind of Sass 93-95 going 96-98 👏 20yrs in this beauty 😍

Impressive blend( 58%Merlot, 32%Cab Franc, 10%Cab Sauvignon) from Black Bird Vineyard in Napa Valley. Black berry jam, vanilla and liquorice. Velvety tannins in the mouth, with a lingering finish. — 10 years ago
Color of dark ruby-purple, with a nose of blackberry jam, vanilla, and sawdust. Full-bodied with amazing balance. Nice smooth finish. Tannins are there, and grippy. This is a really nice wine. With the tannin structure and fruit in place, I could see this aging for years to come. — 6 years ago
Very Jammy hahaha I liked this wine. Very tasty. — 7 years ago
Earthy blackberry & strawberry jam. Delicious. — 8 years ago
Gorgeous aromas of black currant, blackberry jam, spice and baked/stewed dark fruit. Full bodied, luscious and a medium+ finish. The 15.5% alcohol is barely noticeable. — 8 years ago
Fruit forward...notes of black cherry jam, red currant and a touch of earth — 9 years ago
Inky color. Blueberry, leather nose. Dark jam fruit, tannic mid palate, blackberry compote finish. Nice Napa Cab. #riversmarie — 9 years ago

Best slightly chilled. Deep ruby color. Very fruity nose, almost like jam. Very intense flavor, fruit initially on the palate, fully body, very smooth finish hint of vanilla and spice. High alcohol (abv 15.5%). Trader Joe's $25-27. Would love to have most nights, cold or warm season. — 6 years ago
