This wine talks. It has personality. It’s alluring, dimensions, evolves as it opens. Moves from bold dark fruit to smooth pleasure train. The journey of this wine is near perfect. Compare against Kosta Browne. 2016 vintage, gold. — 4 years ago

An excellent Riesling. Very slightly sweet but beautiful flavor — 7 years ago
Medium ruby color with paler rim. Red berries predominant on the nose with damp earth, and hints of spice. Nicely balanced on the palate, with medium body, modest new oak, silky texture, and nice lift. Blend of fruit from multiple vineyards including Gran Moraine 34%, Zena Crown 21%, Willakia 20%, Upper Terrace 10%, Roserock 6%, Hyland 3%, Saikkonen 3%. — 7 years ago

Late to post but too good not to post. 00 VGR (Very Good Red) - This wine was stunning. Like a walk on the beach in the early morning kind of stunning. 00 was founded by Chris and Kathryn Herman. This Willamette Valley duo is producing some really beautiful wines. If you have not tried their wines, you need to move them to the top of your list. The 2019 VGR was complex, alluring, silky, and everything else you want from a really nice Pinot. The vineyards that made up this wine included: Shea, Stardance, Eola-Amity Hills (a secret vineyard), Hyland Vineyard, and Chehaleam Mountain Vineyard. I see this one getting better with age, but no reason to not enjoy it now.

Rosé wine, single vineyard, McMinnville AVA. 51/25/22.5/1.5 blend of Riesling, Gewürtztraminer, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Light salmon pink, a touch of cloudiness but otherwise very good clarity. Strawberry and yeast notes in nose. Bright, strawberry, lemon and yeasty notes in mouth. Fresh, fairly dry, nice tartness on finish. Not cheap, but superior stuff. — 5 years ago
Beautiful wine. Perfect with Thanksgiving. — 7 years ago
To be honest, if this was placed in a blind-tasting, I can see it being mistaken for a Burgundy. The nose is a savory herb garden intermingling with crushed violets, peppered with spice and cedar. Soft and lithe on the entry with a focused arrow of acidity on the backend, Hyland glides onto the palate with fresh cranberries, orange peel, and pomegranates and finishes in fresh mushrooms and peppercorn. The tannins unfold from powdery into a sexy swash. Pretty and cellar-worthy. — 7 years ago
this was the Arborbrook, not Hyland, but I liked this vs the other Trousse Chemise Ive had. Good Oregon flavor — 7 years ago
