PYCM 2015 Horizontal
Waxy, less depth as opposed to l’Abbaye. Palate is floral and citrus. Energetic and nervous.
Baudines is situated near Santenay, much cooler as it’s one of the most elevated plots of Ch-M. Less deep white clay soil. Pierre-Yves has dealt with the same source since 2005 and knows the plot as if his own. — 7 years ago
The 2008 Trotanoy is a ferociously backward Pomerol that did not engage at Farr’s horizontal. Another bottle served over lunch that had undergone a long decanting was far more representative. It has a gorgeous bouquet with raspberry and menthol, a little dark chocolate and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with ample freshness and vigor although it clearly demands a long aeration to really click into fifth gear. This is a multi-dimensional Trotanoy that probably needs another couple of years in bottle. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 10-Year On tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2018) — 7 years ago
Horizontal tasting veritas nyc — 8 years ago
A splendid and intense nose of black currant and wet earth. Some secondary aromas there too: smokiness, a bit of oak and roasted coffee beans. The palate is great even upon opening the bottle: red and black fruits + a slight saltiness on the horizontal dimension, a nice acid frame which makes the wine go longer and longer. This is a really good wine and a superb value (13€). Should have bought by dozen — 9 years ago
Dense, packed, powerful, embryonic and yet one can see what an elegant wine this will be with time in the cellar. My second favorite, at the moment, of a blind, horizontal tasting of top wines from the 2010 vintage in our book. — 10 years ago
Wine 1/6 of a Bordeaux second label horizontal tasted blind. Wines were difficult to distinguish given age and vintage however the noses helped to differentiate. Petit Verdot on the nose then classic berry. Easily confused with the three Paulliacs in the tasting. Surprisingly good - my first time with this wine. Intriguing and compelling.

PYCM 2015 Horizontal
Beautiful Meursault nose - fragrant and powerful with much volume and depth. Layers of rich dense fruits. Flinty mineral with citrus finish. Full-body with developing buttery and almond flavours demonstrating huge potential for aging.
Almost on par with Caillerets, so mostly depends which style do you prefer more: Mersault or Ch-M?

PYCM 2015 Horizontal
Pronounced aroma intensity with a fine citrus top-line. Flinty mineral. Fills the mouth with considered energy and a very nice complexity. Super finishing flavour, discreetly long and mouth-watering.
Own vineyards in the same section of Chassagne as Les Champs Gains. Very difficult to choose between these two, but Chenevottes to my taste is 1-inch behind in this 2015 PYCM tasting. — 7 years ago
Luminous, pale straw-green. Wonderfully vibrant, perfumed nose combines pear, green apple, Meyer lemon, ginger, lemon verbena and a steely, iodiney quality. Densely packed, tight and young, with a terrific core of citrus, powdered stone and orchard fruit flavor of uncommon purity. Already seamless but still youthfully imploded, this really coats the palate with its concentrated flavors on the horizontal, extremely long finish. This is so complex and rich it actually tastes as if a portion of the grapes had been hit by noble rot. Clocks in at 14% alcohol but you can hardly tell. Along with Terlano’s Vorberg, Nalles and Magré’s Sirmian and the Pinot Bianco by Doro Princic, this is Italy’s best Pinot Bianco wine. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, May 2018) — 8 years ago
Part of a 2005 horizontal of Arnaud Ente's Meursaults. This was a great balance of mineral and fruit, with just enough butter coating. — 8 years ago

2000 exquisite even better than malescot 2000 in horizontal tasting with duck — 10 years ago
From Pisoni's (excellent) second label Lucia, this was part of a three bottle horizontal consisting of the 2011 Santa Lucia Highlands, Garys' Vineyard, and Soberanes Vineyard offerings. The Garys' was definitely drinking the best, but I suspect this one will ultimately surpass it. Right now it's a bit too closed and probably should have been decanted. All three wines were terrific, though (not at the level of the Pisoni Estate, but still excellent wines). — 10 years ago

Had this about a year ago and it was the second one in a month that I had enjoyed. The first was during a horizontal of 1982 Bordeaux tasting and believe it or not this was one of the stars of the night with Margaux being the top dog. — 12 years ago

PYCM 2015 Horizontal
Fruit nose with ginger hint. Here comes the Meursault mouth-filling power and high acidity. Less depth as opposed to Ch-M we tasted in the previous flight. Generous wine, but still a baby.
Fruit comes from the prized Dessus sector (top part), in the middle of Lafon’s portion, next to Puligny Combettes and touching Perrières. — 7 years ago

PYCM 2015 Horizontal
Stony mineral with great aromatic depth. Almost silky herb note and camomile. Pure with a richer body and intense flavour. Steely elegant.
Parcel from wine-maker’s parents towards the top with stony and shallow soil. It’s his reference for all the other wines, never high alcohol, never low. Caillerets is one of the most distinguished wines of his cellar and my personal favourite of the tasting.
Multidimensional Grand Cru quality in all but name. — 7 years ago

Silky smooth sweet cherries and vanilla with a hint of espresso. One of the oldest vineyards in Saint Emilion. Call out to the man, lovingly called “The Boogeyman”, for the great Left Bank/Right Bank 2012 horizontal tasting recommendation this evening. — 8 years ago
Part of a 2005 horizontal of Arnaud Ente's Meursaults. Lots of tropical fruit notes in this Meursault with a strong mineral backbone. Not my fav style of Meursault, but this is good! — 8 years ago
Decent, but the legend of Heidi wasn't shown here to it's fullest. I had the Amuse Bouche 2014 Horizontal together. Very linear, with florals throughout start to finish. The Syrah was greatly suppressed, with Merlot taking front and center, but lacked the velvety texture I would hope for from that style. — 9 years ago
I usual like this wine very well, but today the oak was obtrusive and covered some of the fruit/soil elements I hoped to find here. Third best in a blind, horizontal tasting of top 2010s from our book. — 10 years ago
Part of a horizontal tasting of Central Coast mourvedre at our Wine Party, this wine is typical of the great stuff Ryan Pease is doing at his label Paix sur Terre. I don't know how he manages to produce such an elegant wine from 100% mourvedre, but that's exactly what this wine is: elegant. Beautiful fruit, with smooth, sweet tannins that just dance on the palate. Great stuff! — 10 years ago

Not my fav year but shone bright compared to other 2009 horizontal flight. — 10 years ago

PYCM 2015 Horizontal
Tasted right next to powerful Genevrieres, so showing less power. More grassy green young aromas. Seems weaker and diluted, but still rich Meursault style with nice texture and hints of exotic fruits. Vibrant acidity. — 7 years ago
