Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1975

The Cos was decanted two hours earlier and that helped lift the aromatics. Slight brown on the edge but plenty of classic Bordeaux fruit. Good cork . Shows very well and was a nice addition to dinner. Still has life and vitality.👍👍 — 5 years ago

Tried this again. Pronounced rich aromas of ripe dark fruits and spices. On the palate ripe cherry and plum with rustic spices and some tea notes. Fine ripe tannins, with slight grippy edge, hints of oak on medium+ finish ending with fruit and slight mineral edge. Nice Hermitage. Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1990

Double decant (lots of fine sediment). Taking the time machine back to 1990! Still a glorious dark red with some slight bricking on the edge. On the nose: red fruit, earthy, plum, and slight barn yard funk (which I luv). Taste: red fruit, plum, smokey, floral, currants, sweet still there tannins...low acidity and medium finish....took a chance buying a few bottles and drinking really well! Glad I did. — 7 years ago

Good fruit while still having an olive and herbal edge. Nice freshness, smooth on the palate. Actually a bit on the lighter side than expected. Not the best vintage or showing from a great house but still a good wine overall. I have had better vintages. — 8 years ago

Some bricking, garnet with orange on the edge. Dried red fruit, fig, leather and fun musty old CA Cab flavors. Nearly resolved tannins but the acidity is there and completely smooth tasty sailing. — 7 years ago

This £126 Talbot feels a few years past its peak but still enjoyable; mainly on the aromas 😉 prefer 03, 05 & 86 but better than 81 😁
