Pretty rye with elegance and s finesse finish. Medium bodied and very floral overall, with a range of blooms from lily to rose to orchid to violet and cherry blossom. Very lean and racy, with a dancer’s spirit, flowing effortlessly for a rye of this age. Lacks the signature spice expected, but has a fine tobacco sweetness throughout and a dark raisin streak. — 6 years ago

Amazing bourbon. Super smooth despite the high proof and lots of delicious spiciness. It’s a shame that the street price is absurd. — 6 years ago
Citrus and Stonefruit with well balanced high quality French Oak. Probably the best QPR of any Aussie Chardonnay being the 2nd cuvée of the famous Leeuwin Art Series. Going to compare this with the 2015 Louis Jadot Macon Villages. This had more body, more complexity and interest than the Macon. Tasted again 102 weeks later on 21 August 2019 with consistent Notes. — 8 years ago
Complex flavor, spicy yet smooth — 8 years ago
This is just ridiculous. Act 7. Tastes of deep figs/plums up front as if grandma just baked a pie in your mouth. Finished smooth with a tiny bit of spice and more jams that make you want to cry. More of this please. — 5 years ago
White pepper, cedar, tar, blueberry, and plum. Medium tannin and body with high acidity. Not your typical Aussie Shiraz but more elegant and restrained. — 6 years ago
Boy, we have been drinking good wines this weekend. Another high scoring one. Intense is the key word. Intense in spice, intense in dark, vibrant fruit, and intense in its finish taking you through multiple layers before slowly disappearing and leaving you desperate for more. — 6 years ago
I love Petit Verdot! Nice dark purple color. Very dynamic nose. It's musty, with lots of barnyard odors and hints of Macintosh apples and tomatoes. A little high in OH at 14.7%, but nice fruit, which is on the sweeter side. Surprisingly short finish. Definitely at the tail end of the drinking window. I'd buy more and will! — 7 years ago
Classy, high-end chardonnay. Struck matches, precise. Ripe fruit but packed with texture and acidity. Long. Not as big as other M.R wines. — 8 years ago
aged in high west barrels, this thing is huge and could age for a few more years. dark, charcoal butterscotch and vanilla. — 8 years ago
If candied orange slices could be slow cooked in a smoke pit, along with spices, then filtered through a high alcohol sieve, then maybe just maybe you’d have something close to the Oban transcendental experience. Sublime, one dangerous small sip at a time — 6 years ago
High acid, tart cherries and herbs — 6 years ago
We were in the mood for a Rose, tried several decent yet forgettable rose’s until we stumbled upon this. Tavel is just west of Châteauneuf du Pap and many of the local Provence Rose’s come from this area. It has a very fresh nose and taste. Similar to eating out of a fresh bowl of slightly sweet and tart strawberries and raspberries, mixed in with some cherries, eating your full. Followed by a nice complimentary mineral taste. Enjoyed this a couple of times over the last few nights over cheese boards, carpaccio, fois gras, and on its own. As a side note, upon reflection, I’m learning that I have (for quite some time) given out lower ratings for wines I have really enjoyed secondarily for a fear of missing out on something else that should be rated “x” high score. Instead I have provided a “pseudo” cap of 9.5. From now on, I will do my best to rectify this, and remove the “fomo” handicap. — 7 years ago
Deep ruby with hint of garnet. Nose is clean big blackberry dark plum current flinty. Med acid med tannin med to high body. Big bold blueberry, blackberry current tobacco flint minerality bordering on some mint. Signature white pepper sting afterwards. Very good. Could cellar for another seven years but good now after seven. — 8 years ago
