So happy to experience this flavor explosion again. The taste of that old leather boot floating in the barrel. Incredible. Brings back the day when I first tasted Lagavulin, Laphroaig, and some of the other Islay gems in a whiskey bar atop one of the Tokyo skyscrapers. I must visit Islay one day. Bucket list requirement.

Golden copper color. Nose is full of sweet adhesive, band aids, charcoal ash, green grass, apricots, sea spray, iodine, kelp, varnish, and white raisins. Mouthfeel is rich. Finish is luscious and long.

One of the peatier Single Malts around and being from the West and being a McDonald, one of my favourites. Seaweed and spirity with the expected heat on the throat. A good evening tipple as the colder weather sets in.

May 8th, 2016Packs a wallop of smoke and peat. Very full bodied and definitely not for the feint hearted, I could only sip one glass of this. Lingering finish of complex barrel spice. I found a couple drops of water added helps round this one out.
