@Delectable Wine this is chardonnay flascher am berg. Thanks!
The top white at Adank. Steepest parcel, later harvest, nose is saline, brown butter, iodine, hazelnuts, lime flesh, so complex, just stunning, so so good. juicy and so clean and the level of intensity is off the charts, elegant and so concentrated and so structured. Sapid and grand. It’s so aristocratic. Finish lasts forever and ever. Unreal inner mouth aromas. You don’t get freshness and complexity like this in Burgundy. Almost tannic like intensity. It takes over your mouth. Sapid. stony freshness. Insane. — a year ago

Floral, roses, 100% whole bunch, red apple, sweet red cherries but darker, sensational aromas, more, spices, baking spices, some rare underarm. wood shavings, so high toned and intense and such fine, silky tannins and all red fruits and barely sweet. what complexity, and unreal red fruits, energy and tannins, so so good. big structure and density. Long and such an echoing finish. Just an iconic wine. Just a crazy good wine. Earthy sweetness and sweetening up but it’s so not sweet just so on the edge. It’s amazing how talented Patrick is. — a year ago
Blinded. The table was split on its origin - it was between Germany or France. I leaned towards the latter in my guess, but found it hard to place it in any of the Burgundy villages. A Coteaux Champenois perhaps?
Can’t say I was too surprised when it was revealed to be a Swiss Pinot Noir, but it sure stumped everyone (I encountered a very similar situation in my first meeting with Gantenbein’s now famed Swiss Pinot’s - very Burgundian yet hard to place). Clearly a very animating Pinot. Very fine pure fruit of sour cherries and blackberries. It also features notes of cloves, pepper, dried roses, and hints of smoke and oak toast. The palate was juicy with a rather impressive mid-palate concentration, which really gained with air. The finish tightens up with salty-acidic minerality and a touch of pleasant bitterness. Delicious! — 3 years ago

Heavenly, elegant nose, gooseberry, sage, so elegant and ethereal and like a pillow, just so expansive and like a cloud. 9.6 nose. Jeez. So elegant, round and juicy, super clean, palate is all mineral, so nimble and mineral and it’s delicate. Some nice herbals. Long and lingering finish. unreal flavor intensity. Unreal aromatic complexity. So so dank and light. Unreal sapidity. Palate staining. 60% old wood barrel fermented. — a year ago

Great CA Chardonnay. Balanced, not overly oaked, not really buttery. Fresh and delicious lemon, yellow apple, underripe pear. It doesn’t have the electric acidity of the Adank Swiss Chardonnay I just tried, but it’s delicious in its own softer, more subtle way. Speaking of Swiss, I’m using a cup for tonight’s cheese fondue on a snowy night. — a year ago
