I called this a ripe vintage of Puligny-Montrachet in a blind. Elegant citrus, white peach, spice, and stone. Oak in check. — 6 years ago

Un Sauvignon Blanc del sur de Austria. Fresco, joven y ligero. A la vez, largo y profundo. Un aroma pleno de melocotón se convierte en sabores complejos en el paladar — 8 years ago
Just under a 9.0 because Zweigelt is not my favorite varietal. That said, this is the best of many Zweigelts in the CHF 20 price range that I have tried. Nice depth compared to many others. Kind of like, when in Austria, I would totally order this wine at a restaurant! — 5 years ago
Decent for the money. Good value buy. Rather robust style. — 6 years ago

fresh vintage is drinking deliciously. a bit more weight and depth, but ash and forest berries with typical Burgenland mineralogy still predominates. — 7 years ago
Early in his career, Ernst Storm worked alongside his brother Hannes, who is also a winemaker, eventually leaving South Africa to pursue his career in California, and forming Storm Wines. Aromas of tart fruits, herbs and spices. On the palate cranberry and raspberry with herb mineral notes. Firm gripping tannins, lingering finish ending with earthy characteristics. — 8 years ago

Magnum 2017 - chf 126.— mit Bidi Xävi und Ritzinger - skiweekend — 6 years ago
Really good lean cooler, let it decent a bit to unwind and open up. I have no idea why it’s rated so low. You have to be down with a wine that isn’t only fruit. — 6 years ago
2011 is about the most solid Blaufrankish you can drink, excellent offering by Velich and Schuster under Moric. Their motto is “Fruit ferments. People ferment fruit. It’s a challenge.” 2011 is fresh black cherry, a funky acid core, with an after taste that lasts a weekend. Buy it all, it will last a decade and provide solid street cred with your wine snob friends. — 6 years ago
A bit strong , full bodied cherry notes — 8 years ago
Magnífico. El Pinot Blanc austríaco en una zona climatica benefica para blancos con estructura. Glicérico, lo suficiente envejecido para desarrollar su gama aromática. Graso y goloso. — 8 years ago
Absolutely excellent NZ Pinot — 9 years ago

Light in colour with green-silver shine.
Nice reduction in the nose with toasted sesame, salty popcorn, ripe yellow peach and exotic fruit + a whiff of herbs. Fresh & juicy.
On the palate this is nicely rounded with layers of fresh peaches & pineapple and salty, mineral notes.
This has nice depth & complexity yet remains elegant & is (already) drinking beautifully. But I’ll stock up & see how it evolves.
Südsteiermark is becoming my go-to destination for Chardonnay, next to southern Baden & Pfalz (Burgundy becoming too expensive) — 5 years ago
