Roda 1 is one of my go to Rioja loves 💗 & is superb for the money @ £35-£40 😉 The 01, 04 & 05 were all top wines 👍 The 2011 is showing well & a great example of a modern Rioja 👍 Nit a deep as other vintages & more fresher but fab still 😎
📍 Roda 1 2011 Reserva
🏵 92 points w/ more potential for sure
🍇 91% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano & 1% Garnacha
🍷 Deep opaque ruby w/ a purple hint
👃 Soft smokey oak through dark cherry w/ touches of herbs, cocoa, peppered spices, red berry liquorice, earth & blackcurrant
👄 Med body of creamy dark cherry bathed in cocoa w/ a black berry fruit & raspberry kick evolving into sone prune & date tones as it opens after a few hours - the Grenache brings a lovely freshness to this vintage 👍
🎯 Med+ dry cherry driven dark fruit linger w/ a hit of minerality & a red berry fruit kick
🍛 Went amazing on its own & with Mrs Es 🍗 curry 😍 Pics on Instagram ⏩

Reminiscent of blackberry, Concord grape and black currant fruit. — 8 years ago
Great Spanish wine. Lots of red and black fruit, pepper, cassis and some adorable oak. Tastes like a Bordeaux - Belíssimo espanhol. Muita fruta madura, pimenta preta e um toque delicioso de carvalho. De olhos fechados? Lembra um Bordeaux — 9 years ago

Nice structure intense fruit. — 12 years ago
Another lovely wine! Better than last night but only marginally, so same score. These Spanish and Portuguese wines have the best textures. Definitely drink a little bit on the warmer side. This wine has more fruit and rust elements. Very refined and paired nicely with the suckling pig. — 7 years ago
Rhonda likes. Buy a bottle, but probably not a case. — 7 years ago
The 2013 Bodega Classica Lopez de Haro Reserva is medium dark in the glass. The nose is aromatic with violets, cigars, ripe plums and earth. On the palate, we find big, dark fruit, oak spice and a meaty black olive note. Tannins are firm and the acidity is lively, so it's great to sip as well as have it with some steak. — 8 years ago
Mild, dry, delicious...doesn't finish dry. Has some pep for an aftertaste. Love it! — 8 years ago
Rhône style meets Paso Robles.. Its like drinking a refined Paso Zin blend. Amazing! — 9 years ago

Very good wine at the price. — 10 years ago
100% new oak (no american)
Deeper with a great depth of blue & black fruits an iron ore mineral note, bit like a used red leather purse with bright red lipstick. Very plush in the mouth with rich, spiced black fruit, plush tannin and a long black fruited finish. — 11 years ago
Great balance, easy drink.. — 11 years ago
Crisp start kind of like cranberry then a nice licorice oaken finish... Unique! — 12 years ago

Bought this bottle in Spain 2016. I think Madrid! Didn’t drink it until December 2019. Very smooth!! — 6 years ago
