Medium yellow , touch of gold . Fine bubbles , though not a lot noticable in our wine glasses . Bit of development with brioche , orange rind , mocha , touch of honeysuckle and crushed stones . On the palate this is fine boned , elegant, lemon rind , baked pastry , fine chalky notes . Quite high grippy acidity , this is linear and quite direct in style , but enough volume on the palate to cover its bones . Good medium length mineral and crystallised lemon pith charged finish . This is drinking well now but will probably last well over the next 5-10 years. — 9 months ago

Light gold. Looks young. Took 5 hours to open up and show its stuff. In hour 6 this was cruising. Saline and sea shells, wispy lemon fruit, some honey, some white stone. The guesses from the fellas were 2002 Rav Clos and 1996 Rav Valmur. Shows how these properly stored aged Raveneaus can age effortlessly. — 6 years ago

For my palate, this bottle is at peak. Rich and honeyed, restrained by the vintage. On the nose: pineapple, honey, sweet apple, soft tarragon. On the palate: excellent acidity, black pepper spice, honey, tropical fruit, fantastic density. Long finish...I mean, this is not subtle...ok, even in 08 it toes the line of gaudy and garish, but sometimes that's what you want! Lovely for our mood. — 5 years ago

Medium lemon , hints of gold , quite a healthy colour with fine pretty persistent bubbles still . This quite intense with candied lemon peel , brioche , oyster shells , touch of porcini . On the palate this is intense ,with good volume and vibrant acidity. Buttered brioche , oyster shell , candied orange and lemon peel . Really quite lovely and intense , long and toasted brioche , chalky finish . This is at peak now , but no rush from here over the next 5 perhaps 10 years . — 7 months ago

Tight and solid in the mouth, despite 2 hours of air in a decanter. Has a great minerality in its delivery. Good structure and acidity. Holy moly, where did this one come from!? This had the nose of full throttle drunken elderberries and freshly baked blackberry pie with pepper and spice and everything nice! This tastes like whole cluster Grenache If there really is such a thing. Black and blue, pepper and spice, black cherry cola, mouth coating, inky. Dissecting out all of the notes that were swirling around, it would take me probably an hour, and everyone would be bored and probably stop reading. This was massive.
