I’ve been fortunate enough to have enjoyed many a pour of Signet since it was first released to the market. This bottle has, by far, the most expressive impression of chocolate I can ever recall. A rich and rather decadent version of Glenmorangie. — 4 months ago

An excellent occasional tipple in winter. Glenmorangie are the masters of maturing in oak barrels which previously held other alcoholic beverages. They even mature in barrels that once held Sauternes. This Lasanta spent ten years maturing in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks before being matured for a further 2 years in Oloroso and PX Sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. This gives this single malt Scotch a sweet smoky slightly burnt nuance. — 9 months ago

It’s been years since I was able to try this expression that was the second edition of the now completed Private Edition releases that culminated with “Allta”. The purpose of “Finealta” was to reimagine what Glenmorangie might have tasted like long ago when the distillery managed their own malting floor and used more peat for fuel. This bottle has been well preserved and it’s divine with just a kiss of peat. Sort of reminds me of Tale of the Forest. — 4 months ago

7/23/2023 dabo passed away yesterday. This is from his stash. 18 year very smooth, beautiful fragrance, no peat. Rich… decadently rich aroma that harmoniously layers sweet and earthy notes seamlessly. — 9 months ago

This is an interesting Highland single malt. It’s a bit rougher than others I’ve had. Nose of orange, sherbert, caramel, but also a big hit of alcohol and acetone. The mouth is more of the same with a stronger acetone background. The worst part is a copper taste that carries on through the finish. It drinks hot, but not too hot. Drinks like a younger whisky. — 2 months ago

Another year, another Tale from the creative mind of Dr. Bill. This time around, the focus is on the wood and in this case, the additional finishing in Mizunara casks. The Japanese oak is notoriously difficult to work with and I guess the casks leaked like crazy…but the expression is wonderful. — 4 months ago
